i'm sorry to say this but I think jamie, man!!! you are so bad taste in finding your
girlfriend!!!!sorry that was just my opinion

Yes, i have been in a band called Bashkir folk ensemble! i was playing on kurai. It is Bashkir folk instrument. He looks like a big long pipe consisting from 7 hole.
He was called after plant which is grow in republic of Bashkortostan. It is part of the flute group and he is wind instrument. I don't play anymore because I should have studied for my exams. And in the end i stopped to play on kurai.

I'm a pianist and I used to play an accompaniment to the chorus club when I was a college student. It was one of my high times when I played once in a concert in Hakata city, Kyushu district. After the concert, some of the audience came to the dressing room of us and praised me for my playing, and they were not laymen but piano teachers! I was so glad...

Hello!I usually play piano,for my pleasure,like(as?) a leisure..I began very late(about 40 years old!!!)It was a dream ,when I was young,but I couldn't practice.Now,I have courses with a teacher and I improve slowly!I play various "passages":I chose sings I like and I study the scores...I am not a great pianist!!but I enjoy playing.

When I was 15 or 16, we with my friend tried to play guitars. We wanted to be like our idols Deep Purple, Slade, Pink Floyd. But with time it passed. :-)

I´ve never ever played an any musical instrument or been part in a band , I just sing alone under the shower , When I was I child I used to pretend to be a sing and had a band , today I just listening music , but not too much like before .

Hello!
I don't play any instrument. imagine play in a band, But i love to see the band Beatles, U2, Pet shop Boys and singer with Elton John, Sting, Madonna. I want to knew England and visit the house of pop star Elton Jonh that will be increadible while he sing the song Empty Garden or Nikita. I have a dream and one day it will be possible.
Thanks!

I listened to this podcast and noticed at one point. Rob said that Carolina broke the news to Jamie. I look the phrase "break the news" on the dictionary. It 's written that " to be the first to tell sb bad news". But I think for Carolina having a job in the convenience store is a good thing. I was a bit confusing.

Hello blueroses,

We use 'break the news (to)' when we have bad news, as you say. Here the news is bad but not because Carolina has a job, but rather because of something about that job. Later in the conversation this is made clear:

Jamie: So what about the other days? What are your working hours?

Carolina: Thursday evening, Friday evening and Saturday from four till midnight.

Jamie: Until midnight on Saturday? That's terrible. I'm never going to see you.

I hope that clarifies it for you.

Best wishes,

Peter
