Task 1

Match the Sports

The Premier League players talked about lots of different sports that they do and watch in their free time. In this first activity, you have to match the names of the sports with the pictures. Do you do any of these sports in your free time?

Task 3

Collocations

When we speak about sport in English, we sometimes use do, e.g. 'do karate', sometimes go, e.g. 'go bowling', and sometimes play, e.g. 'play football'. In this activity, match the sports with the correct verb: do, go or play.

We say, 'I spend much time on homework' but we can't say 'I spent much time on the picnic' or 'I spend much time on gathering with friends', why? why the latter two are incorrect?

Hello Zeeshan,

We don't tend to use 'much' in affirmative statements such as these sentences (including the first one). Using 'much' in this way is not exactly incorrect, but since native speakers don't use 'much' this way, it sounds unnatural. Instead, we use something like 'a lot of'.

All the best,

Hi,
I usually like watching movies, reading books and some tv programs in my free time when i am at home, otherwise i sometimes like going out for some sightseeing and going to a pub when it happens to meet some of my important friends, but it's really fun staying away from family and having some fun and enjoy it.
Thanks

where is video ?

Hello edward001,

The video should be visible on the page just under the green 'Preparation' heading. If you cannot see the video window then there is probably a compatibility issue with your device so please try accessing the site via a different device such as a desktop or laptop computer - this may solve the problem.

Best wishes,
