Hi
good day
can you tell me sir how could i improve my speaking level.my English speaking level is very poor.i want to improve it.so any other suggestion.sorry for my bad writing skill.

Hello sadib hoque,

There's some advice on improving your speaking and your writing on our Frequently asked questions page. The methods described there have worked for many people, and note that keeping a vocabulary notebook, which is also explained on that page, would be helpful for both speaking and writing.

If it's possible for you, I'd also highly recommend looking into the classes that the British Council offers in Bangladesh – surely you could get some useful help there.

Good luck!

why Ashlie used Future tense in this sentence (I’ll have a soup and a hot chocolate and he’ll have a cheese sandwich and a coffee, please ) she order now so say (I have a soup ) , could you explain it please

Hello Nermeen Eletriby,

We use 'will' when we are making a spontaneous decision, such as when we are ordering something in a restaurant.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi Peter,
Can we also use the word "want" while we order something in a restaurant. For example;

I want to have a soup and a hot chocolate.

I think it's better to add some more tasks with more difficulty.

Hello uday27,

You can find higher-level content by going to our Find out your English level page and using the table under Step 2. Under 'Level', select C1 and you'll find a list of pages at an advanced level.

hello
when i see the transcript this santence i couldn't understand what ashlie meaning (( it’s a shame about the view though )) did she meam it's amazing because no houses or towers or bridge etc.
and because fresh air this place is empty ????

Hello Hadi,

I'd suggest you look up 'shame' and 'view' in the dictionary – note there is a handy search box on the right side of this page. Ashlie is commenting on how she's disappointed about the fact that they can't see very far ('the view') because of the clouds.

All the best,
