I misunderstand with the story but I can listen it pretty well. I guess, I need more practice in listening a story. I love the accent anyway.

hi
i want to improve my English for the purpose of writing essays please guide me

Hello farukh,

In our Writing for a Purpose section, you can find lots of materials for improving your academic writing, including Essays. If you're interested in writing Essays for exams, for example the IELTS, I'd suggest TakeIELTS. You can also find some general advice on improving your writing on our Frequently asked questions and Facebook pages.

Good luck!

All the best,
Kirk

I feel a bit difficult to understand the story. What should I do? Should I go back to A2? Please give me a piece of advice.

Hello onsuma,

It's rather hard to comment specifically. However, you might try using the transcript to help you, and then later when your level improves you can listen without it. If the text is too hard even with the transcript then it may be better to go to easier materials.

Remember that the level designation is quite broad, so there are easier and harder materials which fit within the B1 band. If you try some other B1 materials you may find them easier.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hello Peter M,
How can i know myself in which level? I've taken the first test already. So, to take tests, where do i need to find information? And also, I wanna get a certificate recognized by British Council. Please tell me how to do.

Thein Htay

Hello Thein Htay,

The level test on LearnEnglish is intended as a guide so you can select the most helpful material to improve your English. It is not an official exam in the way that IELTS, for example, is.

The British Council provides certificates for its learners who complete a course at the British Council. LearnEnglish is not a course but something like an online self-access library. We try to help people with their English by making our material available but we do not organise courses or test our users.

You can find out about courses at the British Council on the page for your country, which you can see here.

Best wishes,

Peter
