To give it its full title it’s ‘The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’. You might hear it referred to as Britain, Great Britain or more often, simply as ‘The UK’.

I don't know why, but the videos normally go after the second try. At first there is only a picture. Overall though it was very interesting. Thanks. Lilit

This video is very interesting and useful. It's easier to understand when you can see at the map what the speaker is talking about. Thank you for such good site.

It's so interesting a site!

Actually this video was very interesting to me. It sounds so as to attract me to this lands and inspirin with desire to visit or even live there for a while. Really, I'm happy with this exercise. I love mountains very much as in my own country we have a lot of. (The Balkans). Also history of GB will be interesting for learning. This is nations with rich history. I was in London once, and was very astonished with its historical sights there. My country has also go back quite a long way .. from over 15 centuris. It is pretty beautiful also. But may be it will be better for us if we will being more responsible for our acts and ruling people be more dedicated in his work.

Guys, where can i download the podcasts of these videos. Please i like to listen to them. Thanks

In France, the climate is temperate but with shades. On the west coast, the Atlantic Ocean brings often too spells of wet weather. The climate is mild and good for farming.
In the southeast, around the Mediterranean Sea, the weather is warmer and drier. It is sheltered from the ocean by the mountains. Retirees come to live there and people enjoy their holiday.
The climate of east areas is harsh during winter.
The mountainous areas are sparsely populated, except for winter resorts.
Yes, I think that geography influences a country's people. In France, the diverse geography of the country leads the diverse characters of the people. In United Kingdom, being an archipelago and a maritime power may play a role in the character of British people : "Britannia, rule the waves".

Hi! Which of region of France you are from? Thank you!

Hi all! I'm from the Czech republic, a Middle European country with a capital called Prague. It's countryside is very various - there are mountains (but not high) around the frontiers, there are lowlands near the rivers, there is a large highland in the centre of country. All this means that we can enjoy 4 seasons - spring (with the blooming trees and flowers), summer (ideal for swimming somewhere in a river, pond, lake or pool), autumn (with a colourful leaves falling down the trees) and winter (ideal for skis). There are vineyards, orchards, crop fields, pastures, hop-fields, woods... But sometimes I give a slight sigh... There isn't sea.
