Business Notes

In the third episode, Marcia Boardman, the HR manager at WebWare, outlines to
the 2 candidates the interview format. There are several possible interview
formats:

Structured Interview - Competencies

The employer identifies the competencies (skills, abilities and experience)
required for the role. They design the questions to test whether the
candidate has these competencies. The questions are often phrased, "tell us
about a time when...".

Behavioural job interview (situational job interview)

Behavioural interviews are trying to find out how you would act in certain
situations. The interviewer wants to be able to predict how you would behave
in the role, if they recruited you. So they ask hypothetical questions.
These might be about a time in your past, or asking you to imagine yourself
in a future situation.

Panel Job Interview

Sometimes employers want candidates to be seen by a number of managers or
peer-workers. A panel interview simply means a candidate meets multiple
interviewers at once. They may play the "Good cop / Bad cop" routine, where
one of them is aggressive and another sympathetic, to see how you perform
under stress.

Technical Job Interview

This usually refers to a "hands-on" interview. For example, an engineer
might be expected to do some analysis of an engineering problem; a market
researcher might be asked to analyse some data; a sales person might be
expected to make a mock sales call. This type of interview is designed to
predict how you would perform in the role.

This video is very usefull for my comprehension and for learning new words. The video will be very usefull for a future work in england and i could be recruit!

This video tells about the interview appointment and a new recuitment. There are two candidates, a young woman and a man. The interview itself will be done in three parts. First, interviewer will give simple questions about the new candidate. Then, they will give them more specific questions such, example about their personal statements. The last part will be a short presentation about the future of the company.
If someone of you find some mistakes on my comment  above, please let me know. It'll be good for me to improve my english. Hehehe Thx

I just can understand around 50% of the dialogue, however, I can understand 100% after read the script.

Thanks for Episode, it was great
How callees didnt realise that someone is talking with them at the same time.

This series is great.
I think the job candidates we're too informal on the telephone. Human Resources Managers and other recruiters wants serious and determined candidates.
My advice would be not be so informal with business people and career contacts who tries to hire you. The first impression is determinant. At the very "Hello" and up to "Thank you. Have a nice day!" the manager will form an opinion about you which will influence your interview result. People base on the first opinion to adopt the way they approach you.
When a HR Manager calls you, show your professionalism. That's they want to see.
Success!

This episode is great!

Thanks and regards,

IT IS REALLY DIFFICULT FOR ME, I KNOW THAT I NEED TO BE PATIENT

This episode about recruitment  happens in  the developped countries like US or UK . In Poland most employers are looking for employees who will be work under pressure for badly -paid wages . This is sad realities of being employee in Poland.  If you live in harsh ,  dire conditions of Third World like Poland , Moldova, Ukraine or India you will be abused or will have to abuse another human being only for money. This is the real face of globalisation .Of course this episode show how business life like in the international and multicultural companies. And I have watched this series like films about James Bond because I never have have such a opportunity in my life.
