if it's not very far from my city, I try to go by car, else that I use plane or train. but I prefer plane.

I don't use to travel very often by plane or train, I rarely travel by plane on holydays because most of the times I use cars or bicycles, we don't have a lot of operative passengers trains here but there's one big international airport where you can board a plane to go almost everywhere in the world. It sounds very complicated to travel by train in UK though.

Thanks for the episode.

I often travel by train and i usually take the first class at the near carriage. i think that travelling by train it more secure. Moreover conveniently the train platform is close to the city where i live. Sometimes passengers are delayed for few minutes, but there are so many underground lines that allow passengers to travel easily from a place to others . Besides , rail services are not expensive and good. Finally by travelling by train i can undoubtedly enjoy the beautiful scenery of my country
Absolutely, traveling is my cup of tea so I'm keen on travelling every corners in my country and around the world. Therefore, I always travel by planes and trains, but plane is convenient and fast. On the other hand, plane is helped me to save time when I move from the place to other places. Beside that, with train you can enjoyed a plenty of attractive sightseeing on the way. Probably, you have a chance to enjoying tasting all different cuisines belonging the train.
Usually I travel one time by plane when I am gone to distance place. I travel by train or bus when I travel local places. In India platform is fully noisy and crowdy. There is a lots of mismanagement in the platform.

Hello learEnglish team, I'm a bit confused about the sentence 3 task 1. In my opinion the correct answer is "False", because train is delayed by 8-mins, not the passengers. If I'm wrong, Please correct

Hello Muhiddin,

When a train is late we can say either that the train is delayed or that the passengers have been delayed. If I phone my friend to tell them I'm going to be late, for example, the I might say 'I've been delayed'.

Dear team. From the audio above: Please mind the gap between the train and the platform. You won't hear this from the Indonesian train's annonser. But You will hear : 'Check your belongings and step carefully'. The question: What do you say about the last sentence??? Thank you very much for your answer.

Hello fahri,

That makes sense to me, and it's important to remember that English is spoken slightly differently in different places around the world.

I would probably say 'mind your step' instead of 'step carefully', but I think it's clear enough, though it is slightly unnatural to my ears.

All the best,

Kirk

Does anyone notice a mistake in question 3? It says Oxford but the tape mentions Bristol.

Hello kbravoz,

You are correct that the train to Bristol is delayed. However, in the first part of the listening we hear that the train to Bristol stops at Oxford:

The next train to arrive at Platform 2 is the 12.20 to Bristol Temple Meads, calling at Reading, Oxford and Bristol Parkway. Platform 2 for the 12.20 to Bristol. First class is in the rear carriage.

Thus, a passenger to Oxford will be delayed.

If we don’t speak about nowadays, when the whole world is fighting with COVID-19, I usually travel by train or plane a couple of times a year. Last year, I flew to Poland twice with my family. My friends live here and we had a great time with them. Poland is our neighboring state so this flight doesn't take long. About an hour. I used to got to my last job longer, telling the truth. Of course, you have to come to the airport two hours before departure but still, it's a very short flight. For example, my last flight to Egipt took over four hours. And with my noisy kids, it seemed to last forever.
I think never traveled by train. In my country the people use the train to go to work, but i go to work by car. I travel by plane on my vacation, usually once a year.
Fortunately, I didn't travel by any transport method not plane or train. Honestly, I'm noticed strange thing in this lesson that preparation was pretty difficult.
Before giving birth I used to travel by plane at least 4 times a year. Now, it is a little complicated but I suppose that within a few months I can travel again as much as before.
i love travelling, for my trip i usually take car or train , sometime i use air plane because it's cheaper. Next week i will travel by train with my boyfriend. It will be my first trip by train in France.

I have never been on an airplane or train. I hope i will travel plane in the future.
I love travelling, but I haven't got a chance to travel as much as I wanted to, but same times I travel from Khartoum to same cities oround it inside Sudan by a big buses.
Last year i traveled very often in my country and abroud. I travel ususlly by bus and by car. This year because we have a carrantine for COVID 19 i don't travel anywhere.
In my country I usually travel by train, because In my opinion it’s a safe transport. At the moment, I’m living in Ireland and I travel to my country by airplane about once a year.
I don’t rarely take a trip by train or plane. I only used by express or motor bike. But i remember that i went to Singapore by plane since 2018.It is fantastic. That is my very first time taking trip by plane.
