привет.....Which rule can explain this "shall we have a go?" and could you give some examples.
Thank you.

Hello Prime,
'Shall we have a go?' means 'Do you want to try this?' and it's used for activities (rides, games etc) rather than, for example, for trying food or drink.  I'm not sure what rule you need - it's a normal sentence used for the function of suggesting, with the modal auxiliary verb 'shall'.  'Have a go' is a fixed expression.
'Look at that video game!  It looks great... shall we have a go?'
'I love rollercoasters and they've got one in the park here.  Shall we have a go?  It will be fun!'
I hope that clarifies it for you.

Hi Pegah,
Can you take a guess by reading the transcript and looking at the context of the sentences that use it? What do you think Stephen and Ashlie meant when they said it?

Hello loaikhamis!
Sorry to hear you're having problems! So I can help you, could you answer these questions?

  • Which web browser are you using? (Firefox, Internet Explorer...?)
  • What computer or phone are you using?
  • Which country are you in?
  • Have you tried any other web pages on LearnEnglish?
  • Do you still have the same problem if you use a different computer?

Also, we know some users do have issues, and we are working on alternatives. Please go to our new episodes of Word on the Street – say, Shakespeare - and try the link that says “Can't see video? Click here!”. Let me know if you can see that video OK.

Hello amoozzaban!
I'm sorry, but these videos aren't available for download for copyright reasons. You can, however, download the exercises and transcript – just click on the download button underneath the video.
If you want to download things to listen to offline, try our Elementary Podcasts or our radio soap opera, Big City Small World – you can download those mp3s!
