thank you very much indeed :)

Thank you Peter!
It's all clear.

Sorry, I made a mistake in the previous comment, I wrote "tel me" instead of "tell me". :-)

Could you tel me why in the sentence "Would you mind getting me a bisquit, please?" you use the present continuous tense, please?
Thank you in advance.

Hello Debbybb,

This is not an example of the present continuous, but rather a present participle (-ing form). Certain phrases are always followed by -ing forms and the phrase 'Would you mind' is one of these.

For more information on -ing forms following certain verbs please see this page.

could you please explain me the use of could or would where we use these words? as i always feel difficulty to use them as i am always afraid that i am using it on right place or not?

Hi mehru1,

These are examples of modal verbs which can each be used in multiple ways. For example, 'could' can be used to express past ability, possibility or permssion, it can be used in polite requests and to express deductions. It's not possible for us to explain so much in the comments section, I'm afraid - that is what our grammar pages are for.

The best thing to do will be to work through our grammar pages on modal verbs and then get back to us if you have any specific questions and we'll be happy to help. You can find pages on modal verbs here and here.
