There is something that I always want to eat in my lunch every day and it can be cooked of many ways: it is plantain, it looks like big and hard bananas.
When the plantains are ripe you can grill or bake it; you can cut in diagonal slices and then you deep fry it, mmmm delicious, this is my favorite way to eat it but now I don’t eat slices so much because it doesn’t healthy. Another way to cook it is cut the plantain with its peel in portions of 3 cm and boil in hot water. If the plantain isn’t ripe yet you could cut it in portions of 3 cm without its peel, fry in hot oil, then flatten it and fry again: this is “Patacón”.
All of these can be used to accompany meat, fish or salads.

Hello, I'm Indira from Mexico.
-Today I'II tell you how to make carrot soup quickly and easily.

Ingredients.
*Four carrots.
*Half a bar of butter.
* A sprig of parsley.
* Half can of milk carnation.
*Salt to taste.

Preparation mode.

The carrots are washed, the tips are cut and peeled.
Once peeled, they are cooked; since they are cooked, they are ground in the blender together with the milk carnation.
The butter is placed in a saucepan and left to melt, then the shake is emptied of the blender, the salt and the sprig of parsley are added and it is allowed to boil over a low heat.

Hi, I'm Cintia from Argentina. I like to cook springrolls. For the preparation you need to heat up oil in a wok. Add chicken, carrots, bean sprouts, sugar, soy sauce and salt. Stir fry until vegetables are soft and dry. Turn the heat to low. Add glass noodles, coriander and pepper. Stir fry again for only 40 seconds. Set aside to cool. Take a springroll sheet and put some filling on it. Roll a bit. Deep fry the sring roll until golden brown

Excuse me.... aren´t there here (S3 E01) the two buttons (check answer and finish)

Hello hpsolinas,

Some browsers have recently stopped showing these buttons. Our technical team is working to fix this, but in the meantime I'm afraid you'll have to try using a different browser – most of them seem to show these buttons.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hello hpsolinas,

There's a dictionary search box on the right side of the page (Cambridge Dictionaries Online), but it's for the Cambridge monolingual dictionary. If you go to the full Cambridge Dictionary site, however, you can find definitions in other languages as well.

Best wishes,

I love to cook paella, a typical East-Spanish recipe. There are some important things to take into account: use only olive oil (you can't cook a Paella using other types of oil), use two volumes of water with each volume of rice and cook rice for 15-20 minutes, never more time. You will realize that the paella has finished when you hear oil frying (in the beginning you can hear water boiling and, in the end, the sound will be of oil frying). This is a very useful tip.
Thanks for the podcasts, they're being very useful for me in learning English.

I usually cook in my house. I love to cook, salty food and desserts. To eat fry fish is very common in my country too, but we usually eat the fish with salad made with carrots and cabbage, and with fried platains. It is so delicious.

Hi, I ussually cook at home, but on weekends I like to prepare fish and fried yucca instead of chips. Notice that the yucca must be boiled before frying it. You can eat it with your favourite salad and lemon juice.
