in the task 1, it says: Read the questions and select the right answers. however, the box of the task has nothing in it except this phrase. Could you check this task please?

Hello NA7,

I have checked the task and it is working correctly - I can see Yes/No buttons for each question.

I notice that this is the second comment you have posted about a task not working, so I suspect there is a compatibility issue with your device and our system. You could check this by accessing the site via a different device to see if that solves the problem. If you can, please try this, and let us know the results.

once when an oceanography student and i strolled on the seashore in germany rain fell in the sea coming towards us and it was petrifying.

Hi teacher, May I ask you why in the phrase "This may look like Paris" Stephen doesn't say "This may LOOKS like Paris"? Is that because of modal verb "may"? By the way, could I also say "This might look like Paris"?
Thanks in advance :)
Sonia

Hello Sonia,

That's right - modal verbs like 'may' are followed by the base form of the verb, i.e. the infinitive without 'to'. And yes, 'might' can also be used here with the same meaning.

All the best,
Kirk

Hello everyone!

I am a new member. Great to see you!

Sorry ,I can`t watch videos on "Word on the street"

Hello liangjinlei,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with the video. I don't really have enough information to tell you what the problem is with any certainty but one possibility is that you may be using a device which is not Flash-compatible, especially if you are accessing the site via a mobile device such as a phone or tablet. Please try accessing the site with a different device to see if this solves the issue.

Best wishes,
