Well I don't get a job yet, it because I'm a PhD student. However, in graduation, the students received a scholarship. I earn 1800 reais a month, it is not so much in my country, but as I earn a student scholarship I dont need pay the taxes that a typical worker has.

Hello everyone. I'm Huong from Vietnam. I'm new and nice to meet you. I hope to get better in English.
Currently, I have been a student in finance and banking of Foreign Trade University, and I am going to graduate in 3 years. I am proud that it is the most famous university in Vietnam, and a dream of many many high-school students, including me when I was 12 grade.
I love my university so much. With me, my school, teachers, and classmates are really great. However, the only thing I don't like is that tuition fee is high, and every day, I have to travel a lot to come to there.

When I was a teenager I wanted to be an air hostess so I started to learn English. After that I learnt I wasn't tall enough so I changed my mind and decided to become a secretary. After finishing my studies I got a good job as a secretary. I can't remember how much money I earned but when I got my first salary I rush home to give it to my parents. It was one of the best things I have experienced.

Hi guys,
My first job was a salary man at a life insurance company, which is now Metlife. I started the job in 1996 and quit after one year. Thinking back, it was not my cup of tea because my role was to manage people encouraging sales people to sell insurance people. Almost of them were married women, but I was not married at that time. It was quite hard to me because I am not good at pushing people to sell something. Anyway it is a good memory and I have been working as  a programmer after I quit the job.
I think of the day when I got paid first time. When I got the money, I went to a clothes shop and bought two long johns in red. Why?
They were present for my parent and it is quite common to buy long johns for their parents when they get paid first time. It is a kind of appreciation for parents' caring. Then why in red?
In the past, when my country Korea was not developed, people could buy it only in read. And it symbolise forever youth and energy. Children wish their parent have long lives. Of course, you have lots of choice in colour nowdays, but it is considered as a modern tradition to many people.
My parent was really please getting the long johns. I think of them so much today because my mother died when I was 8 years old and my father also passed away many years ago.
My parents and my wife's mother are not in this world. Only father-in-law is alive in my homeland. I want to meet him before he dies. I hope that everyone call parents today and say 'love you'.

Thanks , I am very like your story. You were exactly when you wrote "everyone call parents today and say 'love you'". My parents passed away, i can't call but i still remember them . We should be do anything verygood for everyone so we are not regret , everyone try smile and say ' love you "

That's a nice story, Sunghun. Thank you.

Hi, folks!
I have discovered this site two days ago and I like it very much. I asked myself, 'how then can I succeed improving my English?' and started look up in the world wide web and found the British Council website. Thank you British Council for the answer! A lot of sites are well-intentioned, but everybody knows well-intentioned is the opposite of well.
In my first job I was thirteen years old and I worked as a paperboy, but not how Adam did with newspapers. I delivered journals. I was always in hurry, because at home my Nintendo system was waiting for me.
Bye everyone!
