Hi, everybody
In my opinion for telling truth, It depends on situation. Both truth and lie had become the part of our life. Actually we must start our life with truth because lie always hurt and create problems. If we starts telling lie then we have to make another lie to cover the lies. This might caught a problem in our life. But in another situation, if we want to make someone happy or if we don't want to hurt anyone or if we want to save someone's life then, in my opinion lying is appropriate but it shouldn't hurt anyone.

I want to write some words on the topic that was a part of this podcast, " should we always tell the truth or is honesty always a better policy? I think lies spoken with good intentions are not always bad. However, you should take care of on unearthing the lies nobody should be hurt. For example, if someone is in very cheerful mood and want to enjoy the moment, on the other hand, you have any bad news to tell which can upset him/her, and postponing the truth does not have any bad impact, in that case you can speak a lie and say, "everything is fine" . Therefore the lies spoken with good cause don't have any linkage with honesty.
Please let me know if there are any grammatical or spelling mistakes in what I have written.

Hello ca.kulwinder,

Thanks for your interesting comment. While we do read all the comments that our users post, I'm afraid we don't correct them – we are simply too small a team with too much other work to be able to do this. If you have a specific question about a specific sentence, we can usually help with this kind of query, though.

But please do keep responding to the questions on the pages and in the podcasts – other users sometimes will reply and it's good practice for you even without corrections.

Hi everyone I think it's the better to tell the truth but some times in our life should be used a white lie to protect our friends to hurt from us.In most situations should be honest with everyone especially to get a good realation ship with someone that's my opnion.

Hello everyone, please help me, I know every tenses but when I write essay I make a mistake and I can't set up sentences correctly .This situation also affected my speaking. which grammar I must read again?

Hello sagopa,

It's difficult for me to give you specific advice without knowing you better, but I'd recommend you try reading less grammar and explanations and that you spend more time reading or listening to English. The Elementary Podcasts are perfect for this. As you listen and/or read the transcript, notice how different tenses are used. If any of them surprise you, then try to understand why they are used as they are. You can refer to our Grammar Reference and then ask us if it's not clear. Then imitate some of the forms you read or hear, i.e. write a short text yourself that is similar in some way, paying attention to the verb forms. If you can get help from a teacher with this, that would be ideal, but if not, you can still improve on your own.

Good luck!

hey everyone,
on the topic " is it always best to tell the truth?" I'd like to ask a general information question if anybody have the answer.
how is know for his honesty in history as the person who never told a lie " not even once" in his life?

Dear Friend

I made a ticket reservation and want to inform the staff of travel agency to (Amend or Modify) my fist name !!!! would you please give your advice !!
The difference between Amend and Modify !!! which one is correct ?

Hello Hootan,

Both verbs are fine in this context, but I'd say 'modify' is more natural. You can say:

Hello. I have a ticket reservation and I'd like to modify the first name in the reservation.

Best wishes,
