Hello samra gurjeet,

There is no one way to improve in English, and without knowing how your English is at the moment it's hard for me to make any specific suggestions. However, I can give you some general advice.

Remember that the listening materials here on LearnEnglish usually have transcripts so you can read and listen at the same time, which can be very helpful in terms of improving your listening. One way is to use the transcripts the second time you listen, as follows:

  • The first time you listen do the exercises to see how you do
  • The second time, listen with the transcript to check your answers. Note any language features which are new, both lexis (vocabulary and phrases) and grammar.  Then use the language sections linked above to work on those areas.  That way you will work on language that you need, rather than just going through structures for the sake of it.
  • While you listen or read, make a vocabulary notebook, organised by topic (e.g. 'work', 'sport', 'food' etc.) in which you can keep a record of new words that you come across as you work.
  • Finally, use the transcript to practise speaking. Try saying the text yourself, then try saying it with the recording, so that you must speak at natural speed (this is challenging at the beginning but is useful, and you will improve with practice).

Most of all, practise as often as possible.  It's better to practise an hour every day than seven hours once a week, so make your practice as frequent as possible and don't give up! You will be making progress, even if sometimes it's hard to see.

I hope those suggestions are helpful.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hello Ali Ibrahiem,

Yes, that is one reason for planting hedges. There are others too, of course, such as for decoration.

Hello again
Haved a look to Google translate for the word grouse it's Sade is king of the beard like a big chicken so is that true
thanks

Hello Ali Ibrahiem,

Google translate is useful as a rough and ready tool but is not really the best way to find out precise meanings of items. Why not use the Cambridge Dictionaries Online tool on the right of this page? Just type in the word and click 'Look it up!' to get a definition, grammatical information, phonological information, examples and more.

Best wishes,

Peter

I wish I could use some computer programs about mechanical engineering. So that design and strength calculations would be easy for me. It's very difficult to learn because they're very complex softwares. They use a lot of parameters at the same time. Also there are a lot of command we use. Even just memorize them takes a long time. If I had this talent I'd make a lot of money.

Hi everybody, I want to talk about skiing today. I started it about 7 years ago. At first it was difficult. The first day I started, I couldn't do nothing but fall. I like it because it's exciting. Skiing down the mountain gives great pleasure to me. It makes me feel powerful. The skiing has a history as old as humanity history. According to historical researchs, skiing has appeared in Altai, Siberia and Mongolia at first. In 15th century skiing was used for military purposes againist enemy in the middle Asia and Scandinavia before entering our lives as a sport. Due to winter conditions, it also used for transportation purposes in the same region. It has been used as a sport in the early 19th century. Today people used to skiing for competitions, for sport and for fun. It also keeps you fit. I recommend this sport to everybody.
