Hi everybody,

Today I'd like to talk about Marathon running. It is kind of long distance running race I took part in Marathon running one year ago, to me at first it was a quite tired, sometime I run slowly almost walking there are too many people join so you also can walk or jog in that contest. At my place living they had often held Marathon running contest every year with purpose in order to calling people makes support fund for poor person or children with difficulties. I like it because it is a sport activity very mean, good for my health, in the order hand also has to trend everyone has responsible for social charity.
Many people joined in the Marathon running race, however someone has partake in so just they want to win to get worth prize,.... well many reasons.
The sport started about the end of 19th century in modern Olympic. Marathon name is based on the idea of Pheidippides legend, a Greek postman messenger had run from Marathon town to Athens to inform victory. The idea of hold Marathon running race was initiated by Michel Bréal who wnat to have a particular event and remember to the victory of Greek.

I took part in boksing. I started about 2 years ago and I had to leave doing because of my PhD-programme. At first it was so difficult to me. You may guess, to punch anyone could be so difficult and could be harmfull. I used to like it because it used to make me have form, and used to make me feel strong. I have no idea when this sport started but I think it must have come from America.

Guys but Barcelona have a beach in the city, you have 3 metro station directly on the beach....I leaved in barcelona 7 years

Hi ginzo,

Good point, and thanks for sharing it! I suppose they were referring to more scenic beaches such as the ones on the Costa Brava.

Hello, There is a little mistake in section 4 ( While you listen)Which of these talents do people mention? . I Think we should tick (singing) also as someone mention in your turn( Voice 5: I’d love to be able to sing, and then I’d go on something like X Factor ). Thanks

Hi littlemoon86,

You're right! I've just fixed the answer. Thanks very much for pointing this out to us!

In (exercise 2 / question 2) above I noticed that one of the possible answers is "what's happened?"
I didn't know we can use the Present Perfect in such situations. I mean I usually would think of using "What happened" instead.

Hi Alaa.82,

I think you're referring to Section 5, exercise 2 (although the same sentence also appears in exercise 1). This is an example of the present perfect used for recent events with present results (the result is the car is damaged; the event is the accident/crash). I believe this use of the present perfect is less common in American English than in British English, and that may be why you have not seen it before.

You can find more information about perfective forms, including present perfect forms here:

I hope that clarifies it for you.

Best wishes,
