I want to explain a few things about your essay.
First of all, the deadline. The deadline for this essay is October the 18th. Not the 19th, not the 28th, not two days later because your dog was ill or your computer broke – the 18th. If it's late, I won't mark it. I won't even read it – you'll fail the assignment! So, please hand it in on time. You can even hand it in early, if you like!
You can email me the essays at j.hartshorn@lmu.ac.uk. That's H-A-R-T-S-H-O-R-N. I'll reply to say I've got it. If I don't reply within a day, it might mean I didn't get it, so please email me again to make sure. You can also bring a paper copy of the essay to my office, but let's be kind to the trees, OK? Email is better for the trees and for me.
Don't forget that you must reference every idea or quote you use that isn't your own idea. And the last page of your essay should be a list of all the books you used, in alphabetical order, not in the order you used them!
And lastly, make it easy for me to read! That means use a clear font. Arial is best, but Times New Roman is fine too. Not Comic Sans please! Size 12 font for the essay, and size 14 for the titles and subheadings. And use page numbers. Any questions?
I find it very difficult to develop the main idea of an essay topic. We need to know how to explain our opinions in clear words to make sure that the essay is understandable. As a beginner, I am still trying to find ways to overcome this difficulty.
For me, the most challenging part of writing an essay is maintaining a sharp focus on the central argument throughout the paper. I often find it difficult to prevent my discussion from drifting into unrelated areas, as one idea naturally leads to another, which sometimes causes me to lose track of the core topic."
Working an essay is quite fun yet difficult. Its fun to search for the reference, I can look for many other books. But the difficult thing is when i have to express it with my own word. Its hard for me when I do not know many words in english. So, i usually make common mistake in my essay because my word not really explain what i really want to expres in the essay. I think I really need to learn more about academic language.
What do you find difficult about writing essays?

I find it difficult to follow all the instructions when i write an essay. Sometimes there are many rules to remember, and i am afraid of making mistakes. I also need to spend a lot time finding ideas and organizing my essay. I think this activity is useful because i can practice my listening skill and learn new words from the audio.

The hardest part of writing essay for me is finding the reference and such, these days, there is lot of books or journals that people uploaded but when you look at it, its just based by AI works.
When writing an essay, I find it difficult to organize my ideas and choose the right words. Sometimes I know what I want to say, but I have trouble putting my ideas into clear sentences.
For me the hardest part about writing an essay is to find ways to explain the topic, ensuring the grammar is correct, and how to make my essay easy to understand especially for those who are still need to learn more just like me.
For me, the difficulty of writing essays is because the close deadline. And besides that, we also have to looking for the references for our essay. Because of course the more, the better. And then we have to add all the resources that we found and it's tiring if you find a lot and have to add all of the resources correctly.
