Ana: Hi! I'm Ana. Welcome to What to Say!
Do you know what to say when you agree and disagree? Listen out for useful language for agreeing and disagreeing. Then, we'll practise saying the new phrases – after this.
Paul: So?
Emir: I'm not convinced by that idea.
Paul: Why?
Emir: Well, this design is just too simple.
Paul: It's not simple, it's minimal. Plus, it's what the client asked for.
Emir: I'm not so sure. Look … Look at these designs here. I think this is the style that the client wants.
Paul: Hmmm … I think I disagree. They said they wanted it clean and minimal.
Emir: These designs are clean and minimal.
Paul: Look, don't get me wrong, Emir. I like them, but I don't think they fit the brief. For example, here, there's just a bit too much going on.
Emir: OK, I see what you mean, but without all the colour, it would look a bit … empty.
Paul: True. OK, how about taking that and that away? So it still looks interesting, but less busy.
Emir: OK … maybe you've got a point there. Actually, that has given me an idea.

Emir: So we remove the blue. I think that creates a nice balance.
Paul: Yeah, yeah. I think you're right. Changing the circles helped too.
Emir: I agree. So we're happy with this now?
Paul: Yes, definitely.
Emir: So it looks like we can agree!
Paul: Occasionally.
Ana: Hello again! I'm pleased that Paul and Emir agreed with each other in the end. So, did you notice the useful phrases used for agreeing and disagreeing? Listen to me and then repeat.

I disagree with my colleague as she wants to deliver the work without revision, and I didn't like that.
The exercice was really interesting and helpful
I think I am not convinced with all the comments here,but somehow some of them have a good point of view on learning English.However,We all have to agree that we are the learners and it would be great if we share our ideas on different types of practices on learning fast.As we all agree on a point that fluency in English is our only goal.
The last time I disagree with someone was with my husband, because He wants to have a opinion about all and there are some ideas that I dont share.
The last time I disagreed with someone was couple days ago at my work. My manager was telling me five minutes before the closing of the store I work in, to get to the work because she saw that I was talking to the co-worker. I didn't agree with her because I already did all my tasks I had to complete before the end of my shift, and did even additional tasks that are not in my responsibility.
Yesterday, I disagree with my son. He has to pass the last exam in their school. He picked my phone whithout my consent. When I notify that, I am not sure that it is. He told me not to get wrong with him, I didn't think he used it to research the meaning of grammatical word analysis. I am not convinced by that and I asked him to do the research in front of me. Definitely he did it and I helped him to revise his homework.
I am not convinced that they can define me
Recently I disagreed with my husband about the choice of an apartment for rent. First he chose a very strange place, dirty and smelly. Definitely, it was a bit convenient: quiet, peaceful place, close to husband’s office. And my husband told me that it reminded him of the cottage in his childhood.
But I couldn't stay there. I started to have a headache. I felt bad there and cried. And in 2 days we changed an apartment. And now we live in a very cozy villa near the ocean. And the route to the husband’s office is quick enough.
In my last meeting with my work team, I disagreed with one of my colleagues about what kind of data would have been analyzed. He was not convinced at all about my idea, but I exposed my point of view, and finally, he saw what I meant.
