How many points can you get in three minutes? Longer words score more points!

Playing Rules

You are given a random assortment of 16 letters in a 4x4 grid and are set a time limit of 3 minutes. In that time you must spell as many words as possible. The words, of course must be real words, spelt correctly as checked against the word list of 52,000 words and must contain between 3 and 7 letters. A letter cannot be used twice in the same word.

When forming your word, you can select letters from any position as long as you follow the spelling order.

Scoring

Points are awarded depending on the number of letters in the word (the "Qu" cube counts as two letters).

3 letters = 1 point4 letters = 2 points5 letters = 3 points
6 letters = 4 points7 letters = 7 points

Im teacher, an English teacher in Angola , and can you believe that my 11-year-old kid got 45 points in one month? It's a bit low for his age, but vocabulary is not his strength, so we are aiming to reach 50 or more points, but it has been complex, but we don't give up.

45 is a pretty good score for an 11 year old, my friend is 13 and he got 42 so that 11 year old is doing great!

Got 144 today, but I don't understand one thing: How is it even possible when I write down words with 7 letters like 'elevate', and get 5 points instead of 7? It either gives 5 points or just doesn't accept the word. Please fix it. This error makes it impossible to get higher points, even if the word is long enough.

Hello AnnaTest,

I'm sorry if not all parts of the game work perfectly. I will note this and if we rewrite the game in the future we will try to correct it. However, we're a small team here providing a free service, so our resources are limited in terms of time. To change something like this we will need to rewrite the game entirely, so it's not something we can just tweak.

As I said, your comment and that of JustBookObsessed has been noted.

I hope you enjoy the game in spite of any glitches, and good luck in your learning!

I have only played for one month, and my highest score is 45. It's a bit low, I know I'm trying to improve but this game is hard and challenging, but still fun
