About me

By day I'm a regular guy and by night a superhero … How tiring is that?!

Just joking! I'm a regular guy all the time, good job, close to my family, just bought my own flat with a cat. Actually, my cat thinks I'm a hero because I saved her from the street. I'm a talkative person and I believe communication is the most important thing in a relationship.

Likes and dislikes

I love pizza if it's Italian, wine if it's white, and football if it's the World Cup. I read a lot, especially true life stories, but most of my books live on my phone.

Hobbies

I love to travel and I'm always planning my next trip. I prefer an active holiday like hiking, skiing or watersports and I get bored lying on the beach. I post lots of photos on Instagram as I'm a good photographer but I'd really love to share the holiday with someone. Maybe you'll take the photos on the next trip. wink

Tips

1. Write about your good points, not your bad points.

2. Don’t include every single thing. Choose a few points and focus on them.

3. Don’t add your contact details (e.g. address, phone number). You could get unwanted messages.

4. Check your spelling and punctuation before you post.

5. You can use punctuation and emojis when you’re joking, e.g. ?! and wink.

Dear Teacher, Hope you are well. I am writing this to get some information about to get some course for me. My English writing skill and grammar really bad. Can you please advise me full grammar course. I have to write emails on a daily bases because of nature of my work. My speaking and listening level is C2. As I have been living in England for last 10 years. Unfortunately, my writing level is A1. Many thanks

Hello Babydoll,

If your main objective is to improve your writing, I'm not sure that I'd recommend an intensive grammar class. It could certainly be helpful, but grammar is only part of writing. I don't know you at all, but based on what I see in your comment, you writing level is much better than you think and I'd say you would probably benefit more from writing practice than a grammar course.

In general, the most effective way to improve your writing involves 1) reading lots of examples of the kinds of texts that you want to write (so that you can learn from them) and 2) getting feedback from an accomplished writer. If you could find a teacher who could help you, I think you'd learn the most from individual attention. If that's not possible, you could try one of our FutureLearn courses or online courses, though it's not possible to get a lot of individual attention in these.

As for writing emails, early next year our subscribers will be able to take a course called Effective email communication. It's a great course and you could easily complete it in one month, which would make it fairly inexpensive for you if you subscribed for just one month. I should clarify, however, that there is no individual tuition for this course -- in other words, there is no teacher who could help you with your writing in the way that would most benefit you.

I hope this helps you.

All the best,

Kirk

Good Afternoon Kirk, Thanks for getting back to me. I think, this is the best option for me to just wait for next year to join that course. Will I be notify when the course available? Or do I need to search on the home page. Many thanks

Hello Babydoll,

I expect we'll be announcing it in our newsletter, which you could subscribe to. It's a monthly newsletter, so you won't get lots and lots of emails from us. We'll probably also mention it on the homepage, so you could also just keep looking there. I expect it will be sometime in the middle of January, though I can't promise this.

You're also welcome to ask me in a comment on this or any other page if you don't see any announcements.

Glad that you are interested in it!

All the best,

Kirk

I don't know. I haven't used the dating app yet. If I used it, maybe I would have many friends.

Nowadays, due the pandemic, many people are bored. They always feel lonely, disappointed,... However, technologys hepl them. Some dating apps are very useful, but not all dating apps are good, so we need independent, freezom. We can be watching movie, listening music or hang out with our friends, we needd to relieve stress. Recently, i use a dating app, its name is slowly, you can converse with people in the world. You don't need to spend a lot of time on this time because it's slowly every you send a letter to your friend.

I think dating app have pros & cons. One of pros is that those apps can help, especially a person who have a shy and introvert personality, to meet people and start a relationship. On the other hand a con could be that you will meet a person completely different that he/her told you....but if you never try you never know :) ( I hope he/her will not be a serial killer) In conclusion dating app could be a great way to meet people particularly of other countries but only if it is used with consciousness
