So cool to read about everyone's home tradition they miss the most! I'm from England but I've been living in the States for five years and the thing I miss the most is Bonfire Night on November 5th.
The best thing about Bonfire Night is the fireworks, oh, and the bonfires! … and the history behind it. Basically, Guy Fawkes and his friends tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I. They nearly did it too – they hired a room under the House of Parliament and filled it with explosives. But someone told the royal palace. The authorities found Guy Fawkes in the room guarding the explosives, and he was sentenced to torture and death.
So it's a tradition that celebrates the fact that the king survived. It also means people don't forget what happens if you plot against your country. There's a kind of poem about it that starts 'Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot.' That's why we build a 'guy' – a life-size model of Guy Fawkes – and burn it on the bonfire. Pretty dark and horrible when you think about it!

What tradition do you like best from your country?
I read all the articles, and i say, I love these articles. HMMM My favorite tradition of my country is the easter. Because a like colourful eggs, chocolate bunny and more sweets. But, my favorite thing about easter is walking to random houses and hoping, that there is a girl home. Because if she is, I can beat her so she doesnt get ugly and then she gives me some sweets or sometimes money. Next good thing about easter is if you beat the girl well, her father gives you a shot of slivovica. And you ride like a carousel. And then you go to the next house, if you can.
Hello everyone, I'm from Turkey. We have lots of different traditions but I think the most important ones are started in the founding years of Republic of Turkey. Our first pesident Atatürk have given the 23th April to the all children in the world. On 23th April if you have a walk in the cities you may see or hear some celebrations of children's with songs, dances and shows. I can remember in my shcool there were many activities was happening including reading poems, dance shows and of course reading our national anthem. In these days celebrations are less than past days but I think people still have some kinda emotional feelings about 23th April.
On Christmas Eve you can wish desire but doing it under table .With that condition it may come true.I'm from Ukraine.

I'm from Uzbekistan , our tradition selebrate spring in 21 march , we cook traditional food it's pilov and sumalak. Aso we have traditional clothes . in this celebrate we dancing ,plaing and talking with our neighbour or relatives.

I came from little city in the north of Italy. On 2th of June we have a festival called "Palio", similar with the more famous one, the "Palio di Siena".
