Hi Albashiry,

Thank you for your kind comment!

About task 3 question 7, we can't use 'What course do you do?' because it's in the present simple. That means it is something you do regularly or normally. But Carolina and her flatmates have just arrived at the university. They haven't started their course yet.

In a few weeks' time, after they've started studying, 'What course do you do?' would be fine.

Best wishes,

The LearnEnglish Team

I prefer dogs.

Grammar question :
Did you
((MEET)) anyone interesting at the party? (meet)
At the task ( 6 ) why the verb (meet) in the base form ? even there is ((did)) at the past tense ??

Hello EslamNasser,

When we ask questions in the past simple, we use the auxiliary verb 'did' and the base form of the verb. The answers in that exercise are correct.

All the best

I think having a pet is matter of choice.
I agree with the preference for cat.
I prefer a cat.

I don't like neither dogs nor cats. I think it's because when i was a child I had allergy at many things, one of them were pets with long hair. In fact we had a little dog, she was kind with as and we name's Laila. But we gave her to grandmother because doctor sayed. So now I don't have any feels for pets like dogs or cats

Frankly, I’m not an animal lover.

Overall I find cats to be very sweet as well, it's just not in the same in-your-face, constant-attention-seeking, following-you-around-everywhere sort of way that dogs do.

It's easier to look after a cat

Right now I'm more a cat person, that's why I have six of them. I had dogs in the past and they were meek. I still wanna have a dog someday but not for now. Cats are also meek too, but they're more chill and sleepy animal.
