I kiss my good fiends, of course. And I can shake hands with the others...

hi I'm zaki from Egypt glad to join in this beautiful site. in Egypt we cheek the man or the women or friends girls or boys by hands. and kissing throw girl to girl .

Hello! I am Fatemeh from Iran. When we meet each other we shake a hand and say “salam” that means “hello”. If we are friends we kiss on our cheeks and if we missed each other, we hug too. But religious people I mean Muslim people (that I am a Muslim too!); do those things (I mean shaking hands and kissing) just for their same gender. For their opposite gender, they bent their head down (a bit) and say hello. If a man wants to say hello to a woman or a girl, he put his right or left hand on his chest too. There isn’t different for saying goodbye. :D

Hi, I discovered this page today, and I have only one thing to say, is an awesome page to improve the English , anyway, I have a question, is it hard work for a Latin learn the British Accent with the Podcasts?. Thanks for all!.. Regards!.

Hello Wuilkild,
I'm very glad to hear you like the site so much. I think you'll understand the accents in the podcasts quite quickly.
I have to correct you, though, as there is no such thing as 'the British accent'. There are many British accents, based on geography and social position.
Best wishes,
The LearnEnglish Team

oh yeah sorry, I must to be more specific haha, I know about the changes with the accents in all UK , I mean for example the London accent, but thanks for the answer is great to be part of a learners english family. Best wishes from Nicaragua!..

Do you shake hands !

Hello evreybody
i'm Azou from algeria, when we meet our friends we say "salam alikom" and shake a hand .

I'm Srikant from India. We generally fold our hands and say "Namaste" to girls and in case of boys we shake hands and say the above word. But we do hug our near and dear ones while greeting them.
