Could you please clarify me whats wrong with how do you do in task 6 sentence 2??

Hello samiraWije,

The correct response to 'How do you do?' is 'How do you do?', but B does not answer that way. Therefore it is incorrect.

All the best,

Hello Omer Gul,

I'm sorry to hear that you don't have an English teacher where you live. For people in your situation the pages of LearnEnglish can be a great help, so I'm glad you are with us.

I'm afraid we can't provide a correction or checking service of the kind you ask for. We're happy to help with particular points, and to explain tricky rules or systems in English, but we can't work individually in this way as we simply do not have time. Many of our users would like us to correct their work in this way but it's just not possible for us to do so.

Best wishes and good luck in your learning,

The LearnEnglish Team

in series 3, episode 10, 3rd paragraph Rob says :We asked what the most popular drink WAS in your country.
my question is: Can we use IS instead WAS?, so the sentence will be as following:
"we asked what the most popular drink IS in your country."
if both are correct what is the difference?
thank you

We asked (it's Past) and the ojther part of the sentence must corespond to it and must be in Past too.
We asked - drink was. This is a rule of indirect speech

Hello ziadakoum,

In this context both 'is' and 'was' are possible, and there is no difference in meaning.

Best wishes,

The LearnEnglish Team

Hello, In exercise 6 sentence 3 it says that the correct answers are 'b' and 'c', but I think it should be 'a' and 'c'.
