Hi Jeremy,could you explain which is the difference between "to me" and "for me" ?
For example in this sentence : "you are important to me" or " you are important for me" .

I'm not Jeremy, but I'll try to answer your question anyway!
If we're talking about our emotions - that somebody is a special part of our life, for example - then we would use 'important to me'.  For example:
'My family is very important to me.' [= I have strong emotions about it]
We usually use 'important for' when we have something more specific in mind - important for a particular purpose or reason.  For example:
'My family has been important for his career.' [= without his family his career would have been less successful]
I hope that helps to clarify the difference.
