HEY THERE i want to improve my talking and understanding other foreign people and taking so fast plz help me

Hi mahmoud hassan,

The best thing that you can do improve your oral skills (speaking and listening) is to practise them as often as you can. Try to find other people interested in practising their English where you live and speak with them in English - they don't have to be native speakers or teachers for you to benefit from speaking with them. It's also important to listen to English as much as you can. Perhaps you can watch television or see films in English, and I see you've found Big City Small World here on LearnEnglish. You might also find the Elementary Podcasts useful, as well as Word on the Street and the How to videos.

With all of these resources, try to understand them without the transcript first. Then read the transcript as you listen. Identify phrases that you'd like to learn, and imitate the pronunciation that you hear. Practise saying them to yourself or to others as often as you can - this will help your mouth become used to making the sounds, and help you remember them. This should give you some confidence and make your speaking more fluent.

The more you practise, the more you will improve!

Good luck!

Best wishes,

I know this site can make us improve in English if we do learn regularly, but I may be poor in time management skill. However thank you very much

hi,,,I am anew ..and i love this language ...i hope help me to learen english very well and very fast...thanks alot for you^_^

Hello en.loly,

Welcome to LearnEnglish - we're glad that you found us! My first suggestion would be to explore the site.  Use the links at the top of the page to go to different sections and see what kinds of materials are available.  Get a feel for the level of difficulty of different sections so you can see what will be most useful to you at the moment.

Then start with something that is not too high a level. Many users find Series Three of the Elementary Podcasts to be a good place to start.  Work through the episodes, and remember that you can use the transcript to help you, or to read and listen to at the same time after you have done the exercises. As you work, it's important to keep a vocabulary notebook. Organise it by topic ('work', 'family', 'food', etc.) and add words and phrases to it as you go through the material.  Test yourself regularly to see if you remember the words.

Finally, practise English every day, even if it's only for 10 minutes. You can study the vocabulary you've recorded, listen to an Elementary Podcasts episode again, or if you have a friend who is also learning English, practise speaking with them. You can also practise by yourself, just speaking English when you are alone at home or at work.  This kind of practice is great for developing fluency in speaking, so that when you need to use English in the 'real' world you are ready and confident.

Good luck!

Hi younas zahid,

Welcome to LearnEnglish.  It's great that you're so keen to practise your English, but please remember our House Rules, which ask users not to post or ask for personal information such as email addresses, Skype names and so on.  This is because we have some members who are under eighteen years of age, and so we must be careful with personal data, as I'm sure you understand.

Best wishes,

Hello kirk...
in the exercise of vocabulary maypusculas not recognized, so my year was bad, should clarify that (I say this very respectfully).
and finished the series 3 episode 5, after you finish all three series and the course get a certificate?

Hello Heidy,

Thanks for letting us know about the issue with capital letters in the Vocabulary exercise. The instructions indicated that it wasn't necessary to use capital letters, but I've now changed them to say not to use capital letters so that this is clearer. Thanks for helping us improve the site!

I'm sorry, but we don't issue certificates for completing any part of LearnEnglish. But please do let us know once you have finished all three series - we'll be very glad to hear of this achievement!

Best wishes,

The LearnEnglish Team
