I prefer dogs. I have got one dog and one cat. The dog is more intelligent. I honestly loves you and misses you. It can show happyness when it sees you. Cats are lazy and all they do is sit around and sleep all day. They only want to feed them. Dogs are lovely. You can take them for a long walk. They're fun even so you must to clean after them.

Which do you prefer- dogs or cats? I think I prefer dogs. Well, I like cats as well. But I think dogs are very helpful. Dogs are easier to be taught. They do love human and sometimes they protect their masters from the enemy or whatever. For cats, in my opinion they only think about foods and sometimes they just sleep. I know cats are adorable as well like dogs, but if you had dogs, you'd be more happy because you could play with them.

Who do you like to meet, and why?
I’d like to meet George Mallory. He is the first man to climb the Mount Everest near a hundred years ago. First of all, I should say that there is no evidence yet to prove that he’s reached the summit or not, but at least we know he’s the only man who has seen alive at that high elevation on the Everest. Unfortunately he and his climbing partner Andrew Irvine both died on that trip and eventually after 75 years George’s body have found just two hundred meters from the summit.
I’m a climber also, and as a mountaineer I can totally understand him. I admire him because of his braveness, his innovative methods to climb such a giant mountain. He was born in London thousands of miles away from the Himalaya, but he planned it and managed to make it. He must have been so dedicated to work, and decisive to set off such a long, eventful journey to a very unknown and virgin part of the planet Earth, to climb its height point for the first time. Everywhere he was walking on was the first place to be discovered by humankind and it should have been a great adventure. He was extremely adventurous and ambitious as well. He wanted to do it for his country to become the first to discover Everest. He did it in 1924, even many years before the First World War, when there wasn’t such great tools and apparatus for climbing high mountains. He made almost all of his required tools, clothes and equipment himself, which this is one of the other signs of his high intelligence and technical knowledge and indicates his creative personality.
I really would like to meet him, and ask him lots of questions. He was an exemplary icon for all climbers throughout the Earth, and I’d like to know how he organized everything in his trips, and what he was thinking to when he was going up the mountain on his own , thousands miles apart from his family, and what was the enormous power which brought him to such an epic journey

Dear Teacher

I know my question is not about this topic , but I want to ask you as only trusted person that I have !!

I want to inform my friend that I resigned from the previous company and my cooperation with this company was '''cut off '''. I found the other words with the same meaning like ; ''''' broke off ''''' & '''' disconnected '''''.
I would be grateful if you could give me a little help in this case !!!

Regards
Hootan

Hello Hootan,

If you're speaking with a friend, i.e. in an informal context, then 'cut off' works just fine here. In a more formal context, it would also probably be OK. Or you could just say something like 'I no longer work there and have no contact with them'.

All the best,
Kirk

Hi everybody. I have a question, well, when I listened the previous listenings, there are a "bookmarks" of every parts of the podcast, more or less, near of the episode 4, these markets disappears. Can you restore it? The reason is easy, I can listen parts of them quickly, only a click on the desire bookmark.

Thanks for you time...

Hello lfortiz,

We've been doing some testing for technical reasons, which is why these bookmarks have disappeared. We appreciate your comment and the fact that they are useful, though I'm afraid we just don't know yet whether we'll be able to include them in future. We hope to sort this out in the next month or two.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Best wishes,
Kirk
