Hi Tess & Ravi
I love both cat and dog. Each one of them has its own nice character.

Thanks

I like cats. Some year ago we had 2 cats. They were not friendly, but when we gave one of them, the other bored and eventually became ill.
We also have a dog lived in the yard. She was supposed to guard the chickens, but she caught them and burrow into the ground.

I do not like the pets, but if it had to choose, I would choose the dog. I do not like the cats, they are extremely loving, too much for me. I prefer the intelligence of the dogs. They are smart and faithful.

I really do not like the sports. But I know about a important person in my Country (Venezuela) who is a very good futbol player. His name is Juan Arango, he play with the Vino Tinto soccer team of Venezuela, and he is really good.

with a section your turn. I prefer dog.it doesnt mean I dont like cat, right? I dont want to compare them, so I only say reason why I love dog. be silly but I think it's destiny, when I look at their eyes, erm maybe I understand what's their feeling. and I'm so happy when I play with them, or feed them... I dont look them like an animal, just like a friend

I think with the last exercises, I learned the verbs in the past tense and past participle also beginning to use other types of responses as there are many ways to answer, I think this video will improve a little.

Dear friends,
I’ve heard LearnEnglish Elementary podcast number five and I can't leav the topic without my comment about dogs. So I’m writing to be honest to my dog.
I grew up without any dog or cat. Of course I as well as all little children wanted to have a pet at home but my mother (she was a doctor) thought that having pet wasn’t so good from the health point of view. So I hadn’t been a fan nether dogs nor cats. In 2002 I got married with my wife Valentine. Not long before the marriage Valentine got at home a homeless dog. Milly this name was given to the dog isn’t big one. She weights 5 kg and has 20cm height. So I got the dog as dowry and also I got a duty to walk Milly every morning and evening.
Two years late we had a summer vacations in one lovely country side. There were a small house, a river and forest. In short, it was great place for the married couple and a dog.
One day during that vacations I quarreled with my wife. We were crying and shouting at to prove something each other. Then I decided to go out from my terrible wife as I thought at that moment. I went ahead to the forest by a path. Milly went after me. I didn’t want to be followed by her because she was my wife's dog not mine. So at the beginning I tried to drive her away but she didn’t go out. I decided to go ahead fast, not to pay attention at the dog. It seemed that forced her to give up and turn back but Milly didn’t leave me alone. Sometime when we were overtaken by someone driving bike she ran with barking after driver but then she went back to me. She had been following me for 6 km or more when I thought that it wasn’t right to abuse the dog and turned back to the house.
When we (I and Milly) come back my wife met us on the porch where she had been waiting for two hours. I told my wife that I brought back because of Milly. We made peace… May be cats are more intelligent, smart and clever but it’s difficult for me to imagine a cat who follows its master for distance longer then master’s way with full of food bowl.
So dogs’ hearts are bigger than cats ones…
You truly, Vitalii Mironenko (Ukraine)

I don't understand why the answer" I'm pleased to meet you all" is wrong. Can anyone explain? Thank you.

Hello Soupsoup,

Can you tell us which question and which exercise you are referring to? We'll be happy to answer for you.

Best wishes,

Peter
