Hello behai,

'on time' means at the time you planned, i.e. not early and not late, but exactly at the right time. 'in time' means with enough time, i.e. before the last moment. For example, if class begins at 8.00 and I arrive at 8.00, I arrive on time. If I arrive at 8.20, I arrive in time.

All the best,
Kirk

Hello sir,
i want to know ''what is the difference between pronunciation of AND & END.'' i listen this word sound in Cambridge dictionaries online.but i not become .both the word nearly same pronounced.
thank.

Hello yogesh mani tripathi,

If you have listened to the pronunciation in the dictionary then I'm not sure what else I can tell you!

The first sound in 'and' is like 'ant' or 'animal'.

The first sound in 'end' is like 'else' or 'egg'.

They are two different vowel sounds. If you want to practise listening to different individual sounds then the interaction phonetic chart (which can be downloaded) might be useful. You can find it here.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hello sir
i do not understand how to use phonemic chart.please help
thank you.

Hello yogesh mani tripathi,

You can find suggestions for how the chart can be used here. It's really more of a reference tool than anything else, enabling you to hear the sounds of English and example words with those sounds.

Best wishes,

Peter

i really like your postcards!!! i can hear 60% of all. I want to write some paragraphs and send them to you. Can you read them and fix for me? Thanks a lot. :)))

Hello giangdinh,

You are most welcome to post your paragraphs in the comments sections of our site - try to find a relevant page to the topic - but I'm afraid it's not possible for us to correct them for you. We simply don't have the time or the resources (we are a small team at LearnEnglish!) to offer such a service.

Best wishes,

Peter
