My favourite cartoon is a classic of Disney: “One hundred and one Dalmatians”. It's the first film that I saw at the cinema when I was a child at the beginning of the 1970's. I remember I was 6 at that time. I enjoy very much that cartoon. I saw it again about twenty years later with my nephew and then when my daughters were born some years later. I don't know why but every time I saw it was like the first time. Maybe was the first film I saw at the cinema. However the story is good, you can see the neverending struggle between good and evil and at the end the good always triunph, at least in Disney cartoons.
When I was a child I remember every year I saw one or two different Disney cartoons at the cinema: “The jungle book”, “Robin Hood”, “The Aristocats”, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, “Bambi”.
Nowadays children can see Disney cartoons or other cartoons when they want but when I was a child you can see them only at the cinema. The TV, at least in Italy, didn't brodcast Disney cartoons until the first videocassette recorders has come, around the 1980's.

What is the difference between DR and Dr

Hello swatmi,

'Dr.' is the standard abbreviation for 'Doctor'.  'DR' can stand for 'Democratic Republic' as in DR Congo, but I would need to see the context to tell you.  Perhaps you could quote the context in which you have seen this, and we will try to explain.

Best wishes,

Peter

hello guys ..!
good morning

Hi Tess and Ravi,
I'd like to write about films, cinemas in my country Vietnam

Certainly, people often go to the cinema the weekend a lot of in my country. Kind of Adventure film which people like to see.
Many of viewers older, adults, young people, even children go to the cinema, too. To cartoon film only focus on children but they can't to go by themselves thus parent have to go with them. There are plenty of cinemas in my country I can't count I and many another people like cinema have modern equipments, surround sound systems, and it's has to be got a lot of blockbusters.
Sometime people could be go to the cinema on days a week in the evening. Costing go to the cinema about from 5->7 USD per person, for children is cheaper in Vietnam cinema.
According to me, people prefer watch to film have subtitles suitable for local language. Today, some of peoples are very good at English, hence they could be listening and watching film in English. I realized that people almost like to watch American films, e.g: Winter Soldiers, Thor, Avengers, Frozen, Iron Man,,etc,..

In Vietnam has got own films industry, recently Vietnamese Director, Actor, Actress from USA, French returned casting, produce, invest on films projects.
do you know: The Quite American film, Ha Dong silk coat, Indochina,.. It's amongst films had presented with foreign viewer.

I don't often go to the cinema every week, sometime my closed friend invite me. I'd like to watch film act- comedy.. i don't like violent film.

Hi Le, you're right, watching films in English is a very useful way to learn English. I'm glad to hear that in Vietnam films are in original language, unfortunately in Italy every film is translated in Italian. When you go to the cinema in Italy you watch English films speak in Italian, the same on TV. The only way to watch film in English is by DVDs. In Italy we have the best industry of film translator (I think it's almost an art) but at the same time we have many problems with foreigner language in particular in listening and speaking. For example last year my daughter spent 3 weeks in England to improve her English: she was one of the best in grammar but the worst in listening and speaking.

Hi,
What's your perfect holiday?
Wow, I'm really like holiday,it should be happened the weekend or after you finish hard works, projects that make you feel tired, stresses. I love beach, it's amazing!
In fact, I prefer to go camping with my friends of course if you were stay in a camp you'll be save amount cost than more in stay 5 star hotel with many rule you have to do follow.
When I come to beach i also visiting marine museum or reach Institute of Oceanography. You may be take a rest for few days and then you should take part in some activity outdoor dive beach to seeing coral, swimming,. It's not better if stay in one place, I supposed

For self traveling is always attractive to a person dynamic like discovery, reaching everything.
Having everything planned like to go travel tour i feel uncomfortable. All of things must be tour guide, following schedule, plans. I have been travel to Thailand by tour agency. Oh, unbelievable so tired,..however it' not all like that.

Hi Le, my perfect holiday? Beach and historical city to visit. Italy is perfect because you have a lot of beach and no far you can visit city and monuments. Last year my family and I went to Lidi Ferraresi, a beach near Ferrara, a little more then 100 kms from Venice. The beach is very large, only fine sand and the sea isn't deep so it's ideal for children. In only a week we have swum in the sea, have catched the sun reading a good book and visited Ravenna, Venice and Ferrara. I like beach, the sea and the sun but If I made that every day I would get bored, so I prefer alternating beach and visiting historical cities. Ravenna was the capital of the East Roman Empire around the 5th century. Ravenna saves the remains of Dante, the author of The Divine Comedy (Divina Commedia). Ferrara is an important city in the Renaissance. In that period Ferrara was ruled by Estensi family. About Venice, I think I don't have to say anything because it's very famous all over the world.

Hi nicolam998, It's nice to read ! I'm sure when recommend to Italy I think no any word so that describe about Italy's beautiful. Everyone knows your country is famous for: fashion capital, Ferrari sport cars, Religion, great sights, etc,..
Certainly, it also lots of beautiful beach, island in Vietnam for example: Phu Quoc Beach or called other name is Pearl Island. I have been come here. It's amazing.
Well, I hope that I'll have a opportunity to travel to come Italy in near future, and I expecting to meet your family in Vietnam in your holiday.....

Hello Tess and Ravi,

My favorite cartoon is: Schtroumpf or called The Smurfs
Initial Schtroumpf just appearance as a figure in Johan et Pirlouit comic book of Peyo painter.
The Smurfs were created so cute: small blue creatures like humans tail rabbit, and dressing white color. They're very lovely, funny, sometime have silly act ..The children really love them so then many cartoon series about Schtroumpf was produced by Belgian painter Ms. Poye and some another producer..
