Hello everybody:
I don't understand something at the end of Section 5: Carolina. Tess says: "terrible link" what does it mean? what is the link?
Thank you for you help
Bye
Gilberto

Ok, now I understand. Thanks Chickenteriyaki and Kirk

Hello Gilberto,

Chickenteriyaki is right. Here when Tess says 'link', she's referring to the transition from the topic of writing to the next section.

Thanks, Chickenteriyaki!

Best wishes,
Kirk

And technically speaking, when there is a podcast or programme with host (presenters in here ) , they will work as a team ,and saying things in an specific order of subjects. Well , I hope I have expressed my idea of this joke here clearly and (grammatically correct). And I hope learn English team could correct me if I make mistakes in my sentences. Above all hope it could help you in some way.

It is a joke , when Tess said that she hates writting essay , and Ravi continued " if any of our listeners have .... Write and let us know. And that contrast? Makes people feel funny

Hi, everyone
I love shopping when i have money for to spend and when i will buy something for me. Otherwise is boring and tired for me.

I like that Einstein wasn't a good student, but a clever one.

I don't get this sentence of Ravi: Are you a scientist by any chance. especially the phrase 'by any chance'

Hello Anh Dung Phan,

The phrase 'by any chance' is a polite formulation, used to make a question, especially a personal question, less direct and more polite.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi everybody
I love shopping but I can’t stand shopping in really busy places. At the weekends I often go shopping downtown with a friend or my mom, but it is more of a hobby than anything else. I mainly visit department and clothing stores to check out the latest fashions. If I find something on sale in upmarket shops or fashionable boutiques at an unbeatable price definitely I’ll buy it. I love shopping and spending money especially for famous brands. I really enjoy walking along the store fronts and gazing into the windows to see what the store is selling. Sometimes, something like shoes or jeans catch my eyes, but I'm not a compulsive shopper, so I never buy the first thing I see unless it is a perfect thing. Many times, I get back home without buying anything.
