Usually I listen to podcasts at home and I mean only the learnenglish podcasts. I don't listen to other podcastS. English podcasts help me improve my english lvl. If I have a bit free time and I can listen to a podcast, I do it. Sometimes, when I drive somewhere or when I'm doing something. For example, two days ago in my city was snowing and I went to clean of snow my car and parking spot. While I was doing it I was listening a podcast. Once, I was at home and doing a lot of homework for my study. I was very tierd of work and sitting at home so I wanted to have some fresh air. I was going for a walk and while I was walking I was listening to a podcast. I don't know anything about other podcasts, but may be one day I would start to listen to another podcasts, if I had more free time. Ones about footbal.

I think space exploration is part of science project. if we have accepted science we have to admire project of space exploration. I know we have a lot of difficulties in our planet like poor people or climate change or disease but these are not caused that we don't try for finding in another planets. I personally admire governments that are trying in this direction.

In my opinion, space exploration is very costly but it helps us to find a new planet we have never known. I think that we can find new resources because we are running out of natural resources. Moreover, there is life on another planet and it is necessary for us to explore new things outside the earth.

Space exploration is necessary because since ancient times there are questions about the universe. Today we have technology to answer some of the questions that humanity is on the origin of everything, so we must seize. In addition, we need to have awareness of the origin of the universe and our vulnerability to outer space.

hi teacher,
can you explain the difference between 'too' and 'so'?
thanks a lot

Hello khai,

'Too' has a meaning similar to 'in addition' or 'as well'. 'So' is used in many ways but the use similar to 'too' is this:

Bob lives in London. Sue lives in London.

We can say this with 'too' or with 'so':

Bob lives in London. Sue lives in London too.

Bob lives in London. So does Sue.

'So' here lets us avoid repeating the information in the first sentence. It is similar to 'neither' (for negative meaning):

Bob doesn't live in London. Sue doesn't live in London.

We can say this with 'either' or 'neither':

Bob doesn't live in London. Sue doesn't live in London either.

Bob doesn't live in London. Neither does Sue.

Note that 'neither' has a negative meaning and so does not need a negative verb after it.

I hope that helps to clarify it.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi Peter,
I think it is not clear enough. I mean 'so' and 'too' in these cases: "It is so exciting!" and "It's too loud!". I don't know when and where to use them.
I'm looking forward to your help
Best regards

Hello khai,

In these kinds of sentences, 'so' indicates degree and means something like 'very', and 'too' indicates there is more than the speakers wants or thinks is good. There's a useful BBC page that explains these two adverbs, and another good resource for you is the dictionary. Look at these entries for 'so' and 'too' (follow the links) and you will see definitions and example sentences of both.

All the best,
Kirk

I don't think the space exploration is waste the money and time because it's important to discover the universe and that help us if the earth expose to any dangerous from the universe actually it's help us in scientific research.

I think the space exploration is a good way for know the origin of life and his evolution.
Other important think is the impact the technology developed to support space exploration and reused on the life the people.
