Hello again
i have another question about a phrase of this podcast. it's about this phrase of Tess " Go to the doctor's after we're finished the podcast, OK?". I don't understand I thought we say "we've finished"! Is there a difference in the meaning of these 2 tenses in this phrase or my supposition is wrong?
Thanks in adv

Hello saranko,

I see that the transcript says "we're finished", but what I hear is "we've finished". In addition, "we're finished" is not grammatically correct, so this is an error in the transcript. We'll fix this as soon as we can.

Thanks for pointing this out and sorry for the confusion

Best wishes,

Hi everybody
I enjoy a lot with this page. I´m studying for the FCE exam...and I´m very glad that I´ve found this web to improve my english
thanks

Hello. I'm glad that I've found this site really helpful for me. Thank you for giving such a brilliant way for people to learn english :)

Hello everyone
I started to study for improving my English three weeks ago and this is my first comment since I hear these poadcasts.
I am happy because day by day I can understand a little more what people speak about in the podcast.
My bigger issue is that I don't understand anything when English people speak. :-(
it's very difficult for me. :-(
So, can you reccomend me a good way to know how I can improve to understand British people's accent?
Thank you very much
Bye
Ale

Hello Ale,
It's great to hear that you're making progress, and that our podcasts are helping you.  Accents can be difficult to get used to, and there are a lot of dialects of and accents in English - in England alone there are dozens of very distinct accents.  In fact, it's enough to travel thirty miles or so (from, for example, Manchester to Liverpool) to find a completely different accent, which is not the case in many countries.  However, I'm afraid the only answer I can give to your question is 'keep practising'.  The only way to get used to accents is to listen to them.  Try listening with the tapescript after you have done all the exercises so that you can see the words as well as hear them, and you can recognise the way different combinations of letters and words are spoken together.  Try also saying the text after, or with, the speaker in the recording - this will help you to understand it, as well as to produce it yourself.
Best wishes and keep practising!
