Hello, i'd really like to be tallented in speaking English, it is a very difficult and hard thing to be done, but it is really exciting, i am still working on it, it needs a lot of time and a alot of effort, but i am really excited to be tallented in it.
Thank you

dear british council team.
Please explain to me what`s difference between think and believe? which is the context for I use believe?
thanks

Hello anaisavecas,

In many contexts the meaning is similar, though 'think' is the more common verb.

We use both verbs to express an opinion or view. However, 'think' expresses an opinion while 'believe' expresses how far we accept something as accurate or true. As I said, in many contexts they are very similar and can be used interchangeably.

I think that's all we can say in general terms. If you have a specific context or example then we'll be happy to comment on it for you.

Best wishes,

Peter

Thank you, Peter M.

I'd like to talk about my hobbies. I like reading books when I have free time. Because I think that we should cultivate our mind as soon as possible, especially teenagers. I love exploring new things in the book such as phenomenon, temperature, etc. It is really great to find out something useful in your life.

Ok

Hi everyone! I don't understand when Ravi said "I’ve heard it’s pretty cool though", in this case, what is the meaning of the word "though"?
Thanks so much.

Hello caro.giraldo95,

You can find this and most other words and phrases in the dictionary – see the search box next to the green Look it up! button on the right side of this page. In this case, 'though' is an adverb.
