  • How do you feel about animals? If you've been to Britain, do you think what Tess and Ravi said is true - are the British pet lover?
  • How do people view animals where you live? How common is it for people to have pets in your country? Do you have one? What kind?

Hello User_User,

The imperative does not generally have a stated subject. However, it is possible to add 'you' to make the sentence more emphatic, and this is an example of that.

Hello everyone, I am back. I listened and commented through 20 episodes of series 03. I started my job in early January, so until now, I can write my comment for the last this episode. I love animals. My family has a dog and we love him. I think all animals can understand people's language, just they can not speak. But we can feel their emotions by looking into their eyes. And I think the British love pet too.
By the way, I would like to say thank you to British Council. I learned many lessons and it helps me improve my listening skills and learn more about British culture. I hope you will make more podcasts and videos to help everyone who uses English as a second language (besides the native language). Thank you again.

Hello ! I love all the animals ,but Rottweilers are having a special place in my heart , I have two of them Kira and Luna (sisters) , they are my kids so I love them very much.

Hello! I am pet lover! I have my little cat. His name in translate for English - Socks, because his first joy be my socks. I love my cat.

I think the best place for first date are a restaurant or in park , in these places you can talk and know each other better , in cinema I don´t think it is a good idea , because there you can´t talk and in the first date this make it a bit strange .
I like animal and pet , but after got married I haven´t got any ,

We had cows, dog and chickens that we cared for our garden when I was child so I can say I grew up with animals and I like them so much, but I don't lean to have a pet because of my cleaning obsession. However most of my friends have a pet/ pets and also the majority of the people in my country love keeping a pet. I have never had a pet but once my housemate kept two turtle and my mother kept parakeet.

All the best.

I want to say thanks to British Council. You are good teachers. It's a very valuable material, I've been listening podcast for late months and it is improve my listening. Thank you for all.
Concerning animal language I think every kind of animals have their own system of communication and they can understand each other. But can for example British sheep understand their brethren from Venezuela? It's a big question! Likely their languages slightly differ from each other )))

Hello Abdullha05,

Thank you for your lovely comment. It's great to know that we are helping and motivating people!

Perhaps sheep have some form of sign language that they could use, or else a code such as Morse Code...

Best wishes,

I think the best place for the first date is a walk in the park with an ice cream and just hearing the sounds of the nature. In the first date you should introduce yourself and try to know each other better. It would be better with no pressure of time or space, so, choose a park where you can take a great walk and just focus on the talk and the other one. Although it can sound boring, I like it and in my humble opinion is the best way to know about the things she likes, hobbies, kind of music she likes and dances, sports that she practice and so on.
