Elementary Podcasts

Elementary Podcasts are suitable for learners with different levels of English. Here are some ways to make them easier (if you have a lower level of English) or more difficult (if you have a higher level of English). You can choose one or two of these suggestions - you don't have to follow all of them!

Making it easier

  • Read all the exercises before you listen to the podcast.
  • Look up the words in the exercises that you don't know in a dictionary.
  • Play the podcast as many times as you need.
  • Play each part of the podcast separately.
  • Read the transcript after you have listened to the podcast.

Making it harder

  • Listen to the podcast before you read the exercises.
  • Only play the podcast once before answering the questions.
  • Play the whole podcast without a break.
  • Don't read the transcript.

Now, listen to the podcast and do the exercises.

I enjoyed every episode but If I have to choose one I'll choose the episode number 2 on series 1 when Carolina arrives at the airport and have to talk to the airport employees, I found that very useful. But as I said, I enjoyed and learnt loads of new things in each episode so I want to thank you all for your great work to create the podcasts and to allow every person to get access to it and all the useful exercises to practice English.

Thanks a lot for every episode of all series and the great work you've done.

Hi jmajo,

That's great! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed the podcasts :)

If you are looking for more lessons of this type, you might like to try Writing home, another audio series with new characters.

I learned a lot from the podcast. Thank you so much!
I need some help. I'm looking for an English talking pen ( or voice pen? I don't know what you call it) and a taking book for my 2-year-old daughter. Do you have any recommendation? She is interested in learning English, and I think playing with such a pen and a book is a good way. I looked for them on internet, but there are a lot and I don't know which one is good. I would appreciate a lot if you could help me with that.

Hello February,

I'm afraid I really don't know anything about this, and in any case we don't usually recommend specific products on our sites.

By the way, have you see LearnEnglish Kids? You might find some useful resources there.

All the best,

The LearnEnglish Team

Hello Bashayer,

I'm afraid that there will not be a fifth series, but we are working on a related series called Writing home. Once it's ready, we'll announce it in our newsletter.

All the best,

The LearnEnglish Team

We miss you guys, I think it is time to come back with series 5, we miss Tess, Ravi, Carolina, Jamie and of course Emily.
What a funny podcast it was :(

This four series have help a lot to improve my listening skills, I just would like to say thank you to all the team that made this awesome podcast posible, and answering the question above, now I can remember that episode when Emily and carolina goes to the salon to get a trim and Emily didn't like her haircut so carolina started to hassle her.

A bunch of thanks to you great staff. I really enjoyed each moment with you, but I found the end of Carolina a bit mysterious, and I hate such ends.
Thanks with LOVE.
