Could you please tell me the difference between my and mine

Hello navruza992,

You can find an explanation of this by searching for 'possessive adjectives' and 'possessive pronouns' using the Search box on the right side of this page.

It's my ball = It's mine

Stunning and superb video

Hello there,

In this video pete says 'There is lots of people....'Can we use 'is' with plural.lots of people means plural i i think it comes like this.'There are lots of people....' Please help me with this thing.

Thank you.

Thank you naaka, good remark.

Hello naaka,

You are right that the correct form should be 'there are lots of...' and not 'there is lots of...'. However, non-standard forms such as this are quite common in many dialects and varieties of English, and this is an example.

In our videos we try to present natural and authentic language as it is really used (since this is the language which you will come across outside of the classroom, of course). That means that you will find examples like this, and you can hear how people really speak, including non-standard form.

Best wishes,

what does this expression mean "don't be gone too long"

It means the same as 'come back soon'.

Good evening guys. I need your help. 1)" it's a pile of junk to me". Would that be the same if I wrote " it's a pile of junk FOR me" ? Are TO and FOR interchangeable in this case?. Thanks a lot
