Hello Pejman,

Unfortunately that sounds like the same kind of problem many Iranian users have reported to us. As I said, we're trying to find a solution to the problem, but we don't have one yet. Most of our videos, including this one, are under copyright, and so cannot be downloaded. That's why I suggested those other resources - as far as I know, other Iranian users have been able to download the audio files, so I'd encourage you to try it.

Can you not see the Flash exercises (i.e. under Preparation, where it says Task, Task 2, Task 3)? If you can't see those, I'd suggest updating your Flash player - as far as I know, those should work for you.

In the future, we plan to offer a forum in which users can contact each other to practise speaking English, but it hasn't yet been developed. For now, I'm afraid the only way to communicate with other users is here in the Comments. We're very happy to see conversations in these spaces, and make an effort to publish comments as often as we can.

Best wishes,

Kirk

Dear sir
Most of the videos are not playable on my system.
The massage is shown on player window is " video format or MIME type is not supported ".
I tried KM player updated ,also flash player plug in .and of course windows media player, but still I have problem .
I would be graceful if you give me a way to see the videos of your website .Or make a chance to download the video files with common format .
thanks
P Akbari

Hello drpakbari,

I'm sorry you're having trouble viewing the video. Many users in Iran have reported to us that they cannot view some of our videos and we're trying to find a solution to this problem, but we haven't yet been able to solve it.

I would suggest that you try other Word on the Street videos that have the number 2 at the end (e.g. Art Scene 2), though I'm not sure that you will be able to view those either. If you can't see any of them, I'd recommend trying our Elementary Podcasts or Big City Small World. These are audio podcasts that I don't think you should have any trouble accessing, and they are also available for download.

Best wishes,

Kirk

why don't add subtitle on the film, it's useful, isn't it.?

Hello m.atshan,

These videos were made especially for learners. Since the characters speak quite clearly and not too fast, subtitles were not included for those who want to practise without them. For those who do need some support, there is a Transcript, which is found just under the video. There you can find all the words that are spoken in the episode.

wooow i like this kind of educations, it's easy and make you feel comfortable while you are learning, but the problem with me i need to make a conversation with someone with voice i don't know is that possible here or not ?

Hello abnelnile,

At the moment, we don't arrange such online meetings on LearnEnglish and, in fact, we ask users not the give or ask for personal information (see the House Rules) as we have some members under the age of 18 and so must be careful with personal information of this kind.

I think the best solution for you is to find someone where you live with whom you can practise your English - a friend or colleague, perhaps, or a member of your family who is also learning English.  You can also practise speaking by yourself at home - this will help with fluency and confidence, which is very important.

I hope those suggestions are helpful.

Best wishes,
