Hello,
I am at the intermediate level and I want to know how to increase my level from B1 to B2.

If I listened to B2 videos I feel that I understand the whole thing and what they're talking about but there's difficult phrases and words that I don't know. so I couldn't understand the details. Could you please try to give me advice to improve my level. and How long does it take to go up from one level to another in your opinion?

Hello omar,

I'd recommend you follow the advice on improving your speaking and your vocabulary that is on our Frequently asked questions page. The grammar in your comment is very good and since you mention vocabulary, I'd recommend you focus on that for awhile to see how it goes.

There is a lot of variation in how long it takes to go from B1 to B2. It's really a question of effort, aptitude and study habits. We're of course happy for you to use LearnEnglish, but if you're looking to improve as quickly as possible, I'd suggest seeking a teacher at a British Council teaching centre near you for help.

Good luck!

All the best,
Kirk

Hello,
What's the meaning of "And Stephen was supposed to give me a lift to the shops"

Thanks for your help,
LiLi

Hello LiLi,

In this sentence 'supposed to' tells us what the original plan was. We say 'is supposed to' when the plan still might happen and 'was supposed to' when, for some reason, it did not happen as we expected.

Best wishes and good luck!
