These videos are great but the actors speak a little fast.

Hello Leo Maia,

We try to make sure that the English on LearnEnglish is natural and authentic, so that means that even if the language used is not too complicated we don't slow things down so much that they become unrealistic. It can be tricky to get used to! However, once you get used to hearing natural speech it will be a great benefit to you, both in terms of listening and speaking (pronunciation) too. As Kirk says below, listening several times is a good idea and, for sections which contain the story (the Language Focus sections are just discussions about grammar and vocabulary) you can use the transcript to help you.

Best wishes,

Peter

They talked so fast, I can't listen anything they talking. I will try listen more than and i hope i can understand story of them. sorry because my so bad writing skill.

I had to concede even i found it quite fast, especially the video montage.

Hello dragon93,

I'd encourage you to listen several times, as I expect you will understand a little bit more each time. There is no story here – it's just Rob and Ashlie speaking about grammar. If there's a specific short segment you want to ask about, please feel free – please just give us the time code (e.g. 1:11-1:18).

All the best,
Kirk

Can I say " we must sleep on the concept".

Hello Mr. Akash,

People would understand that, but the phrase 'sleep on it' isn't usually changed. In other words, you can use 'must' with the phrase, but 'it' is not normally replaced with another word or phrase. Perhaps you could say something like 'We all agree that's an interesting concept. Let's sleep on it.'

All the best,
Kirk
