Hello rita51,

We have some resources to help you prepare for the test in our IELTS section, but I would also strongly recommend that you visit TakeIELTS, where you can find a lot more. They also have a YouTube channel that has some helpful resources as well. Finally, you can also find useful tips from time to time on our Facebook page.

Hi. I am from Burma and I have no opportunity to practice speaking English. Where can I find strong speaking partner?

Hello philip thet Paing,

The ideal place would be an English class, but if that's not possible there are still several things you can do. First, you can still improve a lot even without a partner or without a partner who has strong English skills. How to do this is described in the 'How can I improve my speaking?' section on our Frequently asked questions page. Our Facebook page also has good advice on this.

I'd particularly recommend using Elementary Podcasts, which many of our users have found very useful. As you listen to each section of a podcast, mark phrases and sentences in the transcript that you think would be useful and practise pronouncing them over and over again until they are easier for you to say. Try to use these phrases in your daily life -- even if there's no one to speak English with, you can speak or think them to yourself.

Have a go and let us know how it goes. Good luck!
