For now, I have traveled by plane two times, to Malaysia and Jakarta. Also, I have traveled to Surabaya by train once. Since the pandemic, I haven't gone with those two kinds of transportation again.

If it’s not too far from my home place to where I visit, train would be my first choice more than plane. Because it’s the best chance and having a little bit time for me to relax.

Not often. But not long ago, I visited Moscow, and I had a challenge there. My first transport was taxi, I went to airport of Krasnoyars, there I had a plane to Moscow, when I arrived to Moscow, I changed to train "AirExpress" to the City, and changed my train to underground train, also I had one change in underground. I made one mistake, when I was in underground I lose my station, and should come back. It was new for me, so interesting.

I often travel by train and i usually take the first class at the near carriage. i think that travelling by train it more secure. Moreover conveniently the train platform is close to the city where i live. Sometimes passengers are delayed for few minutes, but there are so many underground lines that allow passengers to travel easily from a place to others . Besides , rail services are not expensive and good. Finally by travelling by train i can undoubtedly enjoy the beautiful scenery of my country

Absolutely, traveling is my cup of tea so I'm keen on travelling every corners in my country and around the world. Therefore, I always travel by planes and trains, but plane is convenient and fast. On the other hand, plane is helped me to save time when I move from the place to other places. Beside that, with train you can enjoyed a plenty of attractive sightseeing on the way. Probably, you have a chance to enjoying tasting all different cuisines belonging the train.

Usually I travel one time by plane when I am gone to distance place. I travel by train or bus when I travel local places. In India platform is fully noisy and crowdy. There is a lots of mismanagement in the platform.

Hello learEnglish team, I'm a bit confused about the sentence 3 task 1. In my opinion the correct answer is "False", because train is delayed by 8-mins, not the passengers. If I'm wrong, Please correct

Hello Muhiddin,

When a train is late we can say either that the train is delayed or that the passengers have been delayed. If I phone my friend to tell them I'm going to be late, for example, the I might say 'I've been delayed'.

Dear team. From the audio above: Please mind the gap between the train and the platform. You won't hear this from the Indonesian train's annonser. But You will hear : 'Check your belongings and step carefully'. The question: What do you say about the last sentence??? Thank you very much for your answer.

Hello fahri,

That makes sense to me, and it's important to remember that English is spoken slightly differently in different places around the world.

I would probably say 'mind your step' instead of 'step carefully', but I think it's clear enough, though it is slightly unnatural to my ears.

All the best,

Kirk

Does anyone notice a mistake in question 3? It says Oxford but the tape mentions Bristol.

Hello kbravoz,

You are correct that the train to Bristol is delayed. However, in the first part of the listening we hear that the train to Bristol stops at Oxford:

The next train to arrive at Platform 2 is the 12.20 to Bristol Temple Meads, calling at Reading, Oxford and Bristol Parkway. Platform 2 for the 12.20 to Bristol. First class is in the rear carriage.

Thus, a passenger to Oxford will be delayed.

If we don’t speak about nowadays, when the whole world is fighting with COVID-19, I usually travel by train or plane a couple of times a year. Last year, I flew to Poland twice with my family. My friends live here and we had a great time with them. Poland is our neighboring state so this flight doesn't take long. About an hour. I used to got to my last job longer, telling the truth. Of course, you have to come to the airport two hours before departure but still, it's a very short flight. For example, my last flight to Egipt took over four hours. And with my noisy kids, it seemed to last forever.
