Hi Mandy,

Have you tried viewing the video from our Chinese-language site? Our content on that site is optimised for users in China, so I think that should work for you. If not, please do let us know and I'll look into it further.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

All the best,
The LearnEnglish Team

Hello Kirk, Thank you so much for your reply.I haven't tried the Chines-language site yet, because I don't know the site address.Could you please show me the link address?I'm looking forword to learn English from the site. Thanks a million.

Hi Kirk,
I'm in China too. I've tried the Chinese-language site then and still can't view the videos. Not only the videos in this part, but also all other videos can't be played. I think it will be better for us in China to have a audio version to learn. Anyway it's already lucky enough to have scripts.
Many thanks to British Council and all the staffs working for BC.

Hello BING70 and Mandy

First of all, I'm sorry the videos aren't working for you. It seems that for technical reasons, our videos don't currently work in China. Our technical team is aware about the problem and has already started working on a solution.

I'm afraid they expect it will take a few more weeks for them to fix it, but the good news is that after that, they should work for you. So please do check again in July.

Sorry again! I wish I had a quicker solution for you.

All the best

I dislike using phones, when I speak with somebody, I think the person who is in front of me deserves all my attention

Hello everyone
Personally, I shun using my phone when I'm with my friends. I actually hate it when somebody is using his phone while talking to me. However, it's fine in case of an emergency or a situation in which the usage of the mobile phone is required. Mobile phones have facilitated a plethora of things in our life, one of its best advantages is making communication between people easier no matter how far people are from each other which was impossible a century ago, at that time not many people could afford having a phone in their house, not even making a call , so I'm very thankful to the companies how made this possible by producing a variety of phones that even poor people can own and benefit from the advantages that they provide us with.In addition, no one today can imagine a world without these devices, they catering us with features that really can make any task in real life easier, for example: taking a picture, few decades ago , people had to look for a photographer, pay him and give him extra tip to come to your house and take a picture of you with your family while nowadays u just click on a button and that's it. Mobile phones can also make some tasks funny and enjoyable, for instance: doing the chores while listening to music, this one of the thing that i really like about mobile phones, whenever I start organizing my room or folding my clothes I play music and it makes my endeavour quite amusing.
On the other hand, one of things that I dislike the most about these devices is their ability of distracting and preventing people from spending time with their families and their loved ones.

Hi everyone
I try to keep my mobile phone in my pocket and not use it while I´m with my friends or family, it´s a rule as a long as itsn´t a emergency call.

If you don´t overuse I think is a fantastic gadget wich you can keep in touch with your friends and family , also you can learning something, reading books, news , see the weather and much more things.

Honestly, i use my mobile phone all the time, including meetings with friends. Altough i think that virtual contact does not replace personal contact, i am incoherent with my actions.
