Tips
- You don't have to write complete sentences in text messages.
- You can use short forms, e.g. thx (thanks) and pls (please).
- To cancel a plan, say I don't think I can make it. Add the date (e.g. I don't think I can make it tomorrow) and/or to + the activity (e.g. I don't think I can make it to the party tomorrow).
- To show sympathy, say Poor you and Hope you feel better soon.
- Exclamation marks (!) sound positive and they are used a lot in text messages. Two exclamation marks (!!) shows you really, really mean it!

When was the last time you canceled a plan? Why did you cancel?
Yesterday, I planned to go out to the park with my friend. We decided to meet in the park at 07:00 pm but unfortunately, I had some urgent work at home so I canceled that plan. I sent a message to my friend that I am unable to come because I am busy with other work.
About a month ago, I cancelled a plan to hike a mountain because of bad weather. The weather forecast predicted strong winds and heavy snow, so outdoor activities were avoided. As a result, I had to cancel the plans. It was quite disappointing.
"When was the last time you cancelled a plan? Why did you cancel?"
umm, I don't really remember. But I think it was around a month ago. It's not really canceling a meeting. I need to choose one between two plans. My boyfriend asked me to go to a concert, while my friend asked me to see a musical. In the end, I went to the concert with my boyfriend.

Last time I had to cancel a plan due to conflicting meetings. I had to choose which one to attend and which to cancel.
