Preparation
My last holiday
My last holiday was a five-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. I know Prague well because I lived there when I was at university, more than ten years ago.
Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. It was so much fun, and a little bit like my old life. I wanted to do all the same things I did in my university days, so I visited the university. It has changed a lot and looks more modern. I also went to the supermarket near my old house. I loved seeing all the different foods. I was really happy to find my favourite cheese and chocolate biscuits but they were a bit more expensive than I remember!
We did some touristy things too. We walked up beautiful Petrin Hill and around the castle. The views of the city are amazing up there. We walked across the historic Charles Bridge. My friend's flat is very near the TV Tower so we saw the famous baby statues climbing up it. Those things haven't changed, of course.
Tips
1. Try to make your writing interesting for the reader. To do this, you can make it personal with your own memories and experiences.
2. Use adjectives to add detail to your descriptions.
3. Write clear and simple sentences and organise your ideas in short paragraphs. Give each paragraph a different topic.
4. Use so, but, and, because and other linking words.
My last holiday was in Mecacalco, I was visiting my grandparents.
I went with my parents, and my aunt. I was supposed to go with my brother too but he stayed in Coatepec with his girlfriend.
I went for christmas and I stayed until new year, it was very boring because I didn't do anything special but some of my cousins went too so It wasn't that bad.
There’s something really special about going back to a place that once felt like home.
Revisiting old memories, meeting friends, and seeing how things have changed while some feelings stay the same makes the trip even more meaningful.
On my last vacation, I went to Guadalajara with my whole family. We walked around almost the entire city and ate different foods than what we were already familiar with. I barely remember much since it was a long time ago.
I can't remember where I went on my last holiday because I hardly ever go on one. It was such a long time ago that I don't remember it very well
My Last Holiday in My Mother's Town
Last holiday, I visited the town where my mother was born. It is a small and beautiful place. I went with my family, and we stayed for one week.
There were many parties and concerts in the town. People danced, sang, and laughed. The music was loud and fun. I saw the queens of the festival dancing joropo. Their dresses were colorful and they moved very fast. It was amazing!
I liked the food too. We ate arepas, empanadas, and sweet desserts. The people were friendly and happy.
I enjoyed this holiday because I learned more about my mother's town and culture. I want to go back again!
My last holiday was in Rotterdam, where I traveled with my husband because he had to attend a cardiological conference. Since our schedule was quite busy, we didn’t have a lot of free time to explore the city. However, we still managed to enjoy some lovely moments together. We visited several beautiful restaurants next to the river, where we tasted delicious food and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the waterfront. One of the highlights was taking a ride on the boat bus, which gave us the chance to see the city from a different perspective and admire its modern architecture. Even though it was a short trip, it was a very special and memorable experience.
In my last holiday, my family and I hit to Kelvin Grove Beach with my son's friend. We stayed there for couple of hours. This picturesque beach impressed us because has sand on it. Is so fascinating because is not common to find sand in beaches around Vancouver, since these are stony. Mostly we enjoyed the water because surprisingly it was not freezing. My kids also made a sand castle. They touched a jellyfish and a sealion was swimming close to us to say hello. Everything was perfect until it starts to be packed.
My last vacation was a one week trip to Porto Seguro. It was a nice trip but the airport and the hotel were terrible.
We (me and my girlfriend) have made a lot of small tours there, know a lot of beautiful places, one of them were Quadrado’s square, it is a small village near Porto Seguro, there were a loot of souvenirs markets there and the beach was beautiful!
