Subject: 32 Acacia Avenue electricity problem

Dear Sam,

I'm writing on behalf of myself and my flatmates about Number 32 Acacia Avenue as we've been having problems with the electricity.

We noticed that if we use more than one appliance at night when the lights are on, the power cuts out. This means that we can't use the dishwasher at the same time as the oven, for example. For a while we have been careful but recently we have found that even in the daytime, more than one machine running can cause a power cut. Occasionally, the power cuts out for no obvious reason.

We know the electrician who came before couldn't find anything wrong, but please can someone come again as the problem is getting worse? If it would be easier, we can arrange an electrician ourselves and send you the bill.

Kind regards,

Eloisa

Tips

  1. To email someone who's not a friend, use a neutral style and polite tone.
  2. Start the email with Dear … , not Hi. End it with Kind regards or just Regards.
  3. Organise your email in three paragraphs:
    • why you're writing
    • the problem
    • what you want the solution to be
  4. Keep it short and simple. Only include the important information.
  5. Put specific information in the subject line. Don't just put Problem.

Then, we hope we can find a solution about this. If it is not a problem for you, we can call an electrician and send you the bill.

Kind regards,

Pedro.

Dear Ivy,

I'm writing on behalf of myself about the Amber building as we've been having problems with the door's bell.

I noticed that when I started living in this room, I didn't have any chance to inform this problem as I was busy with my studying. As you know, door knocking is prohibited in this dorm. Therefore, the door bell is essential for us to know someone is waiting in front of the main door. I have already changed the battery on the door bell, and it doesn't work. Please, send someone to repair the door bell for me. If it could be easier, I could arrange a repair man myself and send you the bill.

Kind regards,

Steven

Dear Sam,
I'm writing to inform you the airflow of the cooler has gotten hot since two days ago. I have tried to make it by making the cooler bag wet but it didn't work. The engine runs but the airflow is hot. it must have been cut off the cooler water supply system. Of course, Occasionally the engine makes strange sounds. most often when it has been running for some hours.
I will be happy if you send a repairman before the problem gets worse.

kind regards
Ensiye

Dear Mr Smith.
I'm ashamed writing this letter for the second time but my microwave broke again. It has been used since the last time you came to my home and repaired it.
But today, I turned on my plug and the microwave exploted it faster. It was almost a disaster.
I hope you'll come soon and help me to find a solution soon or, do you believe that it is more effective buying another microwave?
If its the case, please let me know what is wrong with my appliance.
Regards Lupi

Yes I have, a lot of times, We rented a 2 bedroom apartment for 2years, It was not fully furnished so we had to buy our own appliances and furniture. After several weeks of staying we noticed several issues with the air conditioning, there was leaking from the pipe and it wasn't working well as it took a long time to cool down the entire room, so we had it fixed and had the landowner shoulder the repair expenses.

Dear Alex,
I am writing to express my concerns about Room 201 as we've been having a problem with the air conditioning since we moved in August.
We noticed a leaked in the air conditioning and it was not working well, Please can u send someone to have a look at them? If it would be easier, we can arrange an electrician ourselves and send you the bill.

Kind Regards, Grace
