Subject: Request for new price list for V1698 face creams

Dear Yuki,

We are presenting to some new clients next Monday 10 December and they are interested in our V1698 face creams.

I understand from Kate that the prices have changed recently. She mentioned that you have the new price list. Do you think you could email it to me?

I would be grateful if we could have it by close of business on Thursday 6 December. That would give us time to prepare for our presentation.

Thanks very much for your help.

Best regards,

  1. Some people prefer you to use their first names, and others prefer you to use their title (e.g. Ms/Mr) + their surnames. Find out what is normal in your company when writing emails.
  2. Explain the reason for the request.
  3. Give a deadline when possible.
  4. Give dates clearly.
  5. Make your request polite by starting it with Do you think you could … ? or I would be grateful if you/we/I could … .
  6. If you don't know the person you are writing to well, you can finish by writing Best regards just before you sign your name.

I usually send an email to companies or universities to request something or make any inquiries for instance, I was writing an email to the university regarding my enrollment process yesterday. I would be grateful if someone, companies or organisation could contact with me by email, so it would be nice to save a time and respond them in proper time.

Sometimes when I have to transmit some files or important information, I would choose to write an email to my colleague. Since writing an email could save the information in our mailbox. Due to some special reason, like noisy enviroment, signal problem, etc., I prefer not to give a call to my colleague during working time or off- work, but if it is an emergency, I choose to give a call first, then I will send a short message. In my region, people here use wechat everyday, and most of the time we could send files, voice through this App, and it is very convenient, but I donot like it at all as it rush into my life no matter what time it is. An email as following: Dear Bella, I am attaching the signed PI from our Russia customer, please processing this order accordingly. If your have any questions, please contact me. Best Regards.

Yes, most of the time I communicate with my colleagues by email. It's a great tool for communication. You can email your colleagues to let them know about different activities that you have done, for requesting information that you need from them, asking for collaboration, or sending files and documents. If you send emails you will have evidence that you finished your tasks and responsibilities. Hi Tom We are meeting a new company on Monday 10 December, to discuss opportunities for having a project together. I understood from Mike, that you have a list of our past projects and all detailed information about them. Do you think you could email them to me? I would be grateful if I could receive it before Friday, which would give me time to review them and to prepare my presentation for the company. Best Regard Rina

I usually write emails to my colleagues, but in Vietnamese, not in English. I wrote to notify about division's news, meetings, discuss relevant issues with my tasks, ask a favor, or even make a date to go shopping. But in some emergency cases, I always make a phone call.

Submitted by Hennadii on Mon, 20/07/2020 - 12:04

I write emails all the time. Actually, most of my colleagues live in other towns so we can't meet each other at the meetings or in the office canteen. I can't come to their room to show any documents or to have a face-to-face conversation. So, we have to use phones or emails. I send them important information to work, also attach files. And, of course, I receive the same from them every day: reports, files, documents, interesting thoughts or suggestions. I just can't imagine our work without emails mow. We will all become helpless if emails somehow disappear.

Yes! I often write emails to my colleagues. I write to my colleagues when I make an appointment with them, ask simple questions, or when I am free. I often write emails to communicate with someone, especially in my spare time. One of the reasons why I write emails instead of calling is that I am not used to calling. Another reason is that it costs money to make a call. In addition, I often write emails because it is not convenient for the other party and I can contact each other during the free time. However, it is much faster to make a call than to write an email, so I think it is better to make a call than to write an email when I am in a hurry or when I have time to call the other party. Recently, I often write not only to my colleagues but also to professors at the university. The reason is that I used to meet in person to solve problems until now, but nowadays I have become an online class, and I have to email if I do not understand or something goes wrong, because it is. I think email is very convenient.

Submitted by jhn__26 on Wed, 01/07/2020 - 06:14

No, I don’t. Up until now, I have been using email, but I no longer use it for my friends and colleagues. Most of the contents sent through email are from email magazines and universities. And when I send it myself, I use it when I want to send an official document, such as applying for a part-time job. In some cases, smartphones have become popular and SNS are diversified, so I use LINE, Instagram and Twitter to send messages. LINE and Instagram can not only send a text message to the other person, but they can also make a phone call. It's not only voice-only calls, but also video calls by reflecting each other's faces. SNS can now send messages, and it can be used more conveniently in conjunction with shopping and other apps. I think it's very convenient that we can communicate with each other much more easily than before. I'm looking forward to how it will evolve further.

Yes. I send a lot of emails to my colleagues. There are several reasons. The first reason is that, unlike telephone calls, you can communicate with your partner anywhere. For example, if you are on the train or when the other party cannot answer the call, you can communicate with the other party by email. The second reason is that the content that you want to convey as an email remains. Unlike the telephone, it remains as a document in place, so you can look back as many times as you want without having to ask back. The third reason is that you can attach materials etc. to the email. The fourth reason is that the number of apps with mail functions is increasing. Many useful apps such as LINE and Instagram are increasing, and you can quickly see if you have created a group within the company and transmitted information all at once or read it. Also, by using the stamp function, pictograms, emoticons, etc., it is possible to communicate without giving a heavy impression to the other party. Based on the above points, I have decided that email communication is more effective than telephone communication, and I use email a lot.

Yes, I do. I often write emails to my colleagues , because sometimes I would like to confirm about homework and information from my university. The university send us emails about information of the lessons. Because of that, communication by using emails is indispensable for us. However, in rare case, it may not be possible to understand only the content sent by emails. In particular, all classes are now offered in online due to the influence of the spread of COVID-19 all over the world, so the number of email exchanges has increased more than before. In addition to that, since I am going to study abroad, so the university often sends me emails about studying abroad. These emails are very important, because studying abroad is huge event and it costs a lot of money. Also my parents paid those money, so I need to tell them the information that sent to me, if the content was unclear, my parents sometimes told me to send an email to the university. Because of this, I often send emails to college

Yes, I do. I usually write a lot of emails about homework to my colleagues. Now, under the influence of Corona virus we are taking classes online so, often I can't understand about how to do or submit an assignment alone. Email is very convenient and useful. It allows you to stay in touch with my colleagues as if they were on my side, even if they are not on my side. I am relieved because there is such a function. With email, we can operate smoothly.

Submitted by Ryuji on Thu, 18/06/2020 - 04:12

Yes. I send many emails to my colleagues. There are several reasons and many advantages. First, unlike telephone calls, you can communicate in an environment where you cannot speak. On the other hand, when I make a phone call, there are times when the surroundings are noisy and I can't hear the words of my colleagues, but when I send it by e-mail, I don't have to worry about that. There are also things that can be sent in addition to text. For example, you can express emotions by using emoji and stamp functions, and you can also send pictures and videos. Besides, when the other person reads his/her email, it will also have the mark as read. These features are built into email, so you can communicate by email without having to talk over the phone. Apps such as LINE, Twitter, and Instagram have many more useful functions, so please give it a try.

Of course, writing an email to colleagues is always necessary as we have to contact each other for some news or information regarding our job. An email is sometimes a piece of evidence in some particular circumstances when we need to give accurate fact.

Hello Achmad Shocheb

No, I'm afraid that wouldn't be correct. You could say 'Thank you very much for your help', however, and that would be correct.
