From: Gabriela Flores
To: Yuki Sato
Subject: Request for new price list for V1698 face creams

Dear Yuki,

We are presenting to some new clients next Monday 10 December and they are interested in our V1698 face creams.

I understand from Kate that the prices have changed recently. She mentioned that you have the new price list. Do you think you could email it to me?

I would be grateful if we could have it by close of business on Thursday 6 December. That would give us time to prepare for our presentation.

Thanks very much for your help.

Best regards,

Gabriela

Tips

  1. Some people prefer you to use their first names, and others prefer you to use their title (e.g. Ms/Mr) + their surnames. Find out what is normal in your company when writing emails.
  2. Explain the reason for the request.
  3. Give a deadline when possible.
  4. Give dates clearly.
  5. Make your request polite by starting it with Do you think you could … ? or I would be grateful if you/we/I could … .
  6. If you don't know the person you are writing to well, you can finish by writing Best regards just before you sign your name.

No. I usually send messages or calls to colleagues if they need them. Because messages are fast and convenient, I just send an email to clients for a budget report or something important that they want to know.

In my previous job, we often sent this kind of emails. There were a lot of requests for everything: from addressing issues to design tasks, from making photo prints to checking the availability of souvenirs.

Very often I write emails to my colleagues. It's not a rare case to put some attachments. Sometimes I want them to do something for me but more often it is my reply to their request.

No, It's not common in our company. We usually send messages or call each other if it needs. because messengers are so faster and more accessible.
We just use email for corresponding with other companies in order to cooperate with them in some respect.

Yes. I sometimes write emails to them in order to email something to me such as a report, price list, a catalog of new products.

I'm not currently working so I don't have occasion to write an email to a colleague, However I often write a lot of emails in regards with Inquiries and making a complaint. Emails can be an efficient means to get your message across. Regardless of how busy the person you are trying to reach out, they'll probably have time to check their email from time to time.

If I need to contact with other companies, I use mail or I need to contact company network we don't use mail, we only use short message or call her/him directly in my previous job. I know that is not formal way using short message but that is traditional way for my previous company.
