I spend most of my money on fuel because I'm used to taking trips and going far away. I don't like staying in the same place for too long. Mounir Barhoumi - Tunisian

I spend most of my money on books and food. Rarely I spend it to buy new clothes or some toys, cosmetic and other things. Even if all I bought is not make a sense I still since I`m young learn how to use my own money, so I guess it`s alright

Hmm... I don't know but maybe I spend most of my money on sports.

In fact I like to go away on weekends by bicycle and therefore I spend my money on transport, meals and sleeping.

I also spend a lot of money on bike maintenance!

I frequently use my money to cover housing and food expenses, and I occasionally allocate a moderate portion of my budget to buy new clothes as a treat for myself."

Hello. Could you please help me? Is the following sentence correct using the verb "gain"?
- When Mazen’s father died, Mazen gained a lot of money as inheritance.
Thank you

Hello Ahmed Imam,

I'm not sure I'd say it's incorrect, but it's an unusual use of the verb 'gain'.

We do speak of investments or currencies 'gaining' value, but as far as I know it's used in the way it is in your sentence. That said, it is intelligible.

I would probably say, 'he inherited a lot of money'.

Best wishes,
Kirk

You're right, but you could edit your sentence even more, and you would say:

-When Mazen's father died, Mazen inherited a lot of money.

Or:

-Mazen inherited a large sum of money after his father's death.
