I'm Buddhist from Myanmar. But I love Christmas. I'm happy when I spend Christmas time. At Christmas time, we decorate public places like malls and centres with Christmas trees, Snowman and lots of light. Christians come to our house and sing Christmas songs at Christmas night. That's so lovely to listen Christmas songs for me. I spend my time by watching Christmas movies at Christmas time. I love all about Christmas, Santa, Christmas tree, snowman... . Christmas is also a public holiday in my country.
What holidays do people celebrate where you live?
In Mexico, we celebrate Christmas, too. And of course, a week later we celebrate New Year's Day. Then, in January, we celebrate the Three Kings' Day when kids receive their presents and we eat the delicious Three Kings' Cake.
I'm Vietnamese and we have the biggest holiday called Tết which takes places in the beginning of the year also as known as Lunar New year. People around Viet Nam always prepare so much for this holiday. We clean and decorate our houses in other to chase away the bad luck of the old year and welcome fortune coming from the new year. People who are working far from their hometown always look forward to go back and reunite with the others of their family. We cook a lot of traditional food which are so delicious
I live in Viet Nam, and we don't celebrate Christmas day as a special holiday. However I do love Christmas a lot. I have seen a lot videos about people celebrating this day through TV, I really admire that they appreciate the day so much and they spend several days earlier to excitedly decorate their houses with tinsels, baubles , holly. They also prepare presents for the kids and food for family , relatives and friends to come over and enjoy the day together. It is so heartwarming.
We celebrate the independence day, the revolution day, and some others like the day of the dead.
In our country we celebrate Ramadan, and our two Eids,we really enjoy them and have fun.
I lived in Ukraine. Butt this year I celebrated my first Christmas in England. Before that day we decorated our house and the Christmas tree with baubles, lights and tinsel. We put presents under the Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve we had a dinner where we also had Christmas pudding. We used crackers and gave each other presents. But for children Santa Claus had brought presents at night when the children were sleeping. Children were very surprised when they saw presents under the tree in the morning. They believe that Santa comes through the chimney at night and leaves presents for good children.
In Italy, Christmas is a very heartfelt holiday and many people are artists in decorations like my neighbors, but I'm not.
I usually give presents to my family but I don't bake sweets, use crackers or make snowmen (but when I was young I did!).
And I don't believe in Santa Claus anymore even though I would like to have reindeer!
good lesson
