Hello Sales Team,

I’ve got an idea for next week – see the attached file. I’d like to hear what you think about my suggestion.
I think Hatem and Patricia may be interested, so I’ve copied them in too. Let’s talk more at the meeting next week.

Regards, Samir

I am new in this website and I found it very helpful. Can you give me please some advice to benifit more from it. Thanks

Hello Snews1977,

Welcome to LearnEnglish! I would recommend looking at our Getting started page first. After that, there's some practical advice on how to get the most out of our site on our Frequently asked questions page. Finally, on our Find out your English level page you can search for pages at your level. Please take a look at all of that and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask us again.

All the best,
Kirk

Hello jojoantony9567,

I think this is a good place to start. Work your way through our English for Emails series and I think you'll find it very helpful. It's also a good idea to improve your language related to various aspects of business and to do this you might take a look at our section on English for Business, and especially the series called You're Hired.

Best wishes,

Hello abdi iid ahmed,

There are many different kinds of reports. For some examples and suggestions you can look at our section on academic writing which has several pages on research reports (see here). The IELTS Academic Writing paper also includes report writing (here).

Dear Sir Is there anything wrong with the following sentence ? : "We received Inner Carton for AMX 500 Capsule for Afghanistan dated on 25.09.17 from Trade Link".

Hello Mohammad Shazed,

The sentence has some minor errors but it is probably easy to understand what you mean for a person who knows the situation.

I can't suggest changes to your sentence without knowing the full context as I might change the meaning inappropriately.

Best wishes,

Peter

hello, i want to learn English for IELTS, i tested to find my level that is intermediate. i don't have much time to go to English class so that i hope i can learn English by myself but i don't know how to start. can you give me some advices? thank you.

Hello lantran,

For general advice on how to learn English and how to use our site to do that, I'd recommend our https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en/getting-started Getting started and Frequently asked questions pages. For information on the IELTS, I'd recommend our IELTS section, the British Council IELTS channel and especially TakeIELTS as useful sources of information.

Good luck!

All the best,

I'm on the Understanding IELTS MOOC and this website was suggested in Week 4. It is a very useful site. Thank you very much for being on the web.

Hello Victor Rivera,

Thanks very much for your message and letting us know how you got here, and, of course, welcome! Please let us know if you have any questions.

I suppose that you know about TakeIELTS. If not, I'd recommend it as another good general resource for IELTS preparation.

All the best,

dear teacher: Sorry to bother you. i am to sure about the meaning of "forward". And I also don't know the full spelling of the abbreviation of "CC". Could you tell me about them? thank you ! "

Hello zhuangxiaoming,

When you forward an email you send it to someone new. For example, John sends Paul an email. Paul thinks that Sue would be interested in the email and so he forwards it to her - in other words he sends the email which he received to another person.

CC stands for 'carbon copy'. You can see a definition here.

Peter
